Peelweight - it wasn't a slap down aimed at you, so don't take it that way. I was making a general comment on the 'US market' reference. It's something brought up quite often on the board and so I felt it necessary to explain and address as it may mislead those who are genuinely not familiar with the workings of financial institutions.
Another reason why a 17.00 RNS won't work is because that would give the OTC market in the US, although negligible, advantage over the main London market which can't happen.
Of course Synairgen can release a RNS at any other time, but the 'US market' would not be the reason why.
Matterhorn, your view is strongly supported by many, on here and others. I'm not an experienced dealer but I know when 20 of the smartest people you know share the same opinion it tends to be right.
OK Matterhorn, I’ll take that one on the chin. I wasn’t suggesting a 5pm RNS for trading, simply PR for news cycle management. Anyhoo, I’m sure your right about process, I’m a relative amateur on that.
Peel
The US market has nothing to do with when a RNS lands. Synairgen is listed on the London Stock Exchange, not the US. Any respectable financial institution based in the US or wherever who trades in EU/UK equities or invest in them either have a dedicated desk working EU/UK hours to cover these markets or make use of a brokerage firm who operate those hours or who are based in the UK. Likewise if any EU/UK based firm trade in US equities - it'll be covered by desks working US hours irrespective where they're based.
Synairgen will issue the RNS at 07.00 in the morning London time - that's where their primary and only listing is.
is -> if
:-)
Remember they may choose a 5pm RNS. Especially is PJMH is right that the major focus is on the US market
Lol fair play, it's the salespeople you've gotta watch out for ;-)
I'm a server and storage engineer. I'm non committal. Always. :)
There's always content mistakes. Always.
And in terms of hosting, yes I would presume so as well, but the IT guy always tells you it's going to work. Always.
Presume someone's hosting the site for them so should be able to cope with the traffic if they've done their homework on the hosting company.
Bit surprised at the content mistakes tbh.
In the past when I've done a website upgrade before looking to drive traffic to it, we've given it a full week in situ to test it in the real world before pulling the trigger on the call to action for the targeted market.
However, that was in sales, where customers would be transacting on the site and if it didn't work on the day, you'd be in the s#!t.
Considering the new sng site is information based only, and that they were taking on feedback from this board today on UX and edits, my expectation is all of those updates will be in place for tomorrow morning. Weve seen Google updated and the YouTube channel as well, so just about everything seems to be in place on this front.
There's also the possibility that they'll want to stress test the site further and we may see an RNS or similar not related to P3 that will ensure the site doesn't fall down w too many visitors.
The data presentation of course needs to be bulletproof and I wouldn't have any insight on just how much time this should take.
But if we work on the basis the data is ready, it would seem from the PR front that Synairgen are ready for their close up.
RM cant wait too long to release the beans because the CAT is already putting its head through the cat flap! Lots of people and businesses could insider trade now IMO so its got to come soon....this week is my guess (tomorrow?)
Wind your neck in AJ lol.
Opinions on a RNS landing this week ? There’s always been the impression they’d drop the big one on a Monday for many valid reasons. Are perceptions changing given the start to this week we’ve had or is the 24th the next big day in folks calendars. All guess work obviously before someone tries coming at me for speculating it’s just some thought provoking chat to see the day out.
Swap horses?
I had the choice of investing in Syner or Puretech might have backed the wrong horse again
