I'm in and also increasing holding.
I doubt they'll find a viable vaccine but I see this as part of the treatment.
Miggy,
What do you think about the change in the calendar regarding COPD ?
Do you think the COPD results will be revealed to the public in June or not ?
Tiptree - Entry point can make a lot of difference in shares especially during this covid period.
If not invested already I would advise not to rush an entry and if your funds allow invest in several tranches maybe a few days apart or even weeks.
And be patient, the nature of the current market is that it is highly likely you will see and hear of +50% rises in a day that's not normal yet I fear many new investors think it's common place.
Finally like Destitute has perfectly demonstrated bank your profit to conserve your capital, greed is your enemy.
notnow20: that's an interesting concept. I usually hold long term with the more conventional shares but: do you think that would also work with a cross-section of the COVID shares, NCYT, AVCT, ODX, ORPH etc? I've been trading them with no more than moderate success and wonder if it's better medium-term to just hold, take a few losses in return for some big gains.
Same here Not now. Lets face it though this may not even be a long term play. My feeling is if you've been sat in SNG for the last 10 years it is long term. This is the endgame really. Other posters on here believe we could be around three weeks away from SNG COPD trial data being made public, I'm not sure if thats correct but it certainly is possible. On top of that hospital trial results in July and then home trials later in summer, hopefully no later than August. So in the COVID bubble might seem a long way away, but it really isn't.
Duble D- Certainly not ignoring it but I have to be honest ive just topped up again at 44.7p. Aim is highly volatile as we all know. I have faith in the company and drug. Wouldnt have bought here in the first place otherwise. Let me ask you a question Duble D, do you know any real data to suggest the trial is a flop or that it won't help against COPD?. As you say not too far above the placement price now and that was heavily oversubscribed. What was true three months ago is just as true now. Just need patience. I agree that is a difficult thing to master but I believe ultimately will be rewarded. All opinions of course, but i'm backing mine with my hard earned :).
Not a huge poster on SNG but my original investment in early Jan was a for a reason. COVID 19 may come and (hopefully) go, but regrettably for people with COPD/asthma there are a whole load of other viruses that come round and round - and if you happen to have a lung condition there is a really good chance of the virus ending up on your chest. I am not a medical expert, so may well have this wrong, but something that can be taken at home, early on in a virus, has got to be a great thing to have access to. Sure, COVID 19 created a specific opportunity to ramp up the trial numbers because of its attack on the lungs, but there are and will continue to be plenty of other viruses, and there remains a market. So for me timing delays are frustrating, and may mean the growth is slower, but the impact seems to be more about peoples short term share price issue than the long term success/failure. All IMO and I keep everything crossed that this drug can make a difference when the results eventually get published.
Note to self. Read message before posting.
Miggy & notnow - serious question guys. How do you continuity keep optimistic with with an ever falling sp??? I m beginning to think there is something seriously wrong here. You just Carnt ignore an sp that falls day after day. We are heading back towards the placement price.
Good luck, Newbie, hope your family stay well. I’ve gone as far as I want to go, finally, with buying in the dips, though I suspect this may indeed fall further. I’m staying put but good luck with your timing and getting back in at the optimum moment. :-)
Simmo222 - This was my first trade and I have learnt so much. The frustration is not about the money as I only trade what I can afford to lose but SNG should be getting much more exposure and support. Fingers Crossed though to all
Oh and I may still post as I like reading these threads and some great people on here. I may even have questions for you guys and gals on Trading etc.
This virus (cough cough) will be back and I expect it will be around 2030. Look me up when it happens, I'll probably be in Alaska :)
Hi Miggy007
I think this Virus/Disease whatever you want to call it is very unpleasant and I have read countless articles from frontline drs saying this is like nothing they have seen before (some saying its not acting like a virus). Does social distancing and lockdown work (thats an argumentative subject but I dont believe it does but again that's my opinion). Especially when you follow Dominic Cummings antics etc. The structure of the government is changing behind closed doors with some really interesting and weird groups being setup like JHUB (Military of Defence) for sanitising data for the Track and Trace app and other groups like OASIS and the mobilisation of the 77th Brigade into the community (Do your own research on all of this).
I hope we come out the other side of it all but I fear life will never be the same again and to me it's unjustified.
Look after you and your family, that's all we can do!
Hey Newbie,
We all have to do what we think is best from an investing viewpoint so all the best to you. Sorry to hear about your father, hopefully he may get help with his diagnosis from this drug or maybe elsewhere. At least this virus has enabled bio techs and drug researchers to expidite their works which hopefully will accelerate the help required by sick people in many fields.
I wouldnt agree with your assessment of the virus disappearing though, I think that is dead wrong. This thing can pass through the population at will as it can be carried without showing symptoms and is highly contagious with a 2-14 day incubation period. The only way socities have managed to keep the numbers down, as we all know is by locking us down for months. Still no Vaccine or likely to be one for some time if ever and effective therapeutics still currently lacking. Apparently we are now being told climatic (hot/cold) conditions have no impact on the virus either. It isnt going anywhere imo.
Nope not up I broke even over the course and the reason I decided to pull out at that time at 47p as I felt this would go down even more to around 43p and I have set my alarm at that level to potentially buy back in.
Results not due for a few weeks so that gives me time to invest in a few other things and keep doing the research and trying to become a better trader.
My decision also to pull was based on my gut and if you look back through all my posts you will probably see my frustration with this stock. I personally believe this pandemic (not really a pandemic is it) was planned with a higher agenda and I think the vaccine is probably already lined up with Glaxo and Sanfoi.
I absolutely love what SNG are doing mainly because of my fathers position with COPD and now cancer but I do feel by the time they get to the finishing line this virus (if it is a virus) will be long gone.
All my opinions but like I say I do spend a huge amount of my time researching across various sites and books and I have reached these conclusions myself.
I will always watch this stock and what's going down when they cross the line and I may return.
Stay safe notnow20 and Good Luck
Newbie-
You are going to make me reel out the Warren Buffet saying, 'the stock market is a means of transferring money from the impatient to the patient.' Hopefully you haven't lost too much but Buffett will be ringing in your ears.:)
What theory was that!
Just a quick note to say thanks to all for some great posts on here. I decided to pull out of SNG for a while and concentrate on other companies with a view to possibly coming back later on. Keep your eyes peeled for the vaccine joint venture with GLAX and SANOFI I have a feeling they will come up trumps
Stay Safe y'all
