Ghia.... that's absolutely right, RM wanted to keep in total control of where, when how.... in one interview he said that going it alone would enable them to get phase 2 done quicker, and bring the drug to market faster...... He was absolutely right to do this IMO.
That's very interesting, as the reference to Inhaled Interferon had previously been removed...
Just to clear a few things up ACCORD was talked about a fair bit on this board in June.
Off the back of the excellent work Tom Wilkinson and Synairgen had done turning around a randomised trial protocol for SNG001, the government launched the ACCORD trial with Tom Wilkinson and Southampton at the helm.
At the time whilst disappointed SNG was not included in the trial, but we rationalised here that joining ACCORD would set us back several months and time to readout would be extended.
On reflection this was exactly right we delivered results in July whereas ACCORD appears to be shelved.
Some people view the lack of obvious government support as concerning.
Personally I think Synairgen have chosen to keep them at arms length until they add benefit. Getting them involved too early on in the process would add delay.

Trek, the clinical lead for the ACCORD programme is Southampton's Tom Wilkinson - part of the Synairgen PR team after the 20 July results. And apparently the ACCORD trial format was based on the original SNG001 trial. You've got to laugh really.

What a cheek though! This govt should be screaming for sng001!
“Bergen, Norway, 28 April 2020 – BerGenBio ASA (OSE:BGBIO), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel, selective AXL kinase inhibitors for unmet medical need, announces that bemcentinib has been selected as the first potential treatment to be fast-tracked in a new UK national multi-centre randomised Phase II clinical trial initiative that aims to save lives and get an early indication of bemcentinib’s effectiveness in treating the most vulnerable patients with COVID-19. “

I wouldn’t worry if I were you. If you’ve already managed to sneak anyone into your room without your mum knowing, then there’s nothing left to lose
Off topic. The track and trace app. Can it detect any dodgy woman with a std ???. Its just if I am out and about, it would be good to know what I am sleeping with.
On a serious note, I am very happy being in bed with Sng and the great success the company has made in recent months.
Looked up Bemcentinib and found the following, looks like the trials have been stopped.
BerGenBio notes the UK Research and Innovation’s (UKRI) decision to cease the grant funding to the University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust for the COVID-19 ACCORD clinical study in which BerGenBio’s bemcentinib was the lead drug candidate to be tested.

Thanks VP, I wasn’t sure so thought I would ask.
Thanks for posting.
It doesn’t look like it includes SNG001 or any reference to interferon. I think we are also much more advanced than this in our trials.
Hello all, has this been posted? It’s dated 24th September and it turned up as I was searching on Prof Wilkinson.
