The interested party theory that was discussed yesterday is well supported by the below:
Strengthened balance sheet for potential partnering GBP3m
discussions with regards to the COVID-19, future
pandemic preparedness, and the COPD opportunity,
working capital and fees
They clearly want to bring the COPD data into play ready for those partnering discussions.
Nopusy - I have just unfiltered you as i was too intrigued to see if you were responding to my post or not so just had to look. Your recent posts don't appear to sound like my mother inlaw so, maybe you have got laid? Not likley with your username though.!
Why is the data gettting looked at within the next couple of weeks?
"The Company has received approval from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to conduct an unplanned interim analysis on the grounds that data from the 109 COPD patients with confirmed viral infection generates useful safety, biomarker and potentially efficacy data to support ongoing trials of SNG001 in COVID-19 patients."
Reading that they will be looking straight away imo.
The data from the hospital trials will not be as good as the data from the COPD trilas imo, so its been a blessing for shareholders here to be able to see it first now.
Noluplus
I think you are correct..the idea is This drug is a "load the gun drug"pump it into people early days ready for the coming weeks when it will be needed..
Giving it to them who are already going through the second stage of covid where the lungs are already under attack may not give the outcome required.
Where the home trials are targeting early days and they are getting to them much earlier than when they are walking through the door with breathing problems.
Nolupus - I think you’re spot on about hospital results - I keep in mind the Leicester consultant saying that the trial therapies were likely to offer ‘small but welcome benefit’. I would still take that as a positive.
However, the whole rationale of SNG for COVID / Asthma / COPD is to reduce a severe viral response when a vulnerable patient is hit by a virus. A home therapy that (hopefully) avoids the need to become an inpatient. And that is a valuable game changer......
Oil and Ghia both have valid points but my thoughts were based on prioritising the anlysis and results reporting of the Covid pandemic. We shall wait and see what happens. Either way, I feel that whichever way they publish results COPD/Covid or Covid/COPD I think the results of the latter trial will have the same result as the former trial.
Oilfoenothing,
They can't be looking at the data right now but they will be in the next couple of weeks .
Patience Patience .... summer is nearly here
But on the downside of my logic , I believe that the hospital trial results wion't be as conclusive as we may like them to be ....
The timing and the dosage levels are my major concern for hospital patients ( too little , too late ).
Now that is only my opinion and I will be filtered by many for saying that but .....whatever ...
Forest - how can it be possble that the COVID trial results can be publised first? They are looking at the COPD result data right now. The cant even start to look at the COVID results for a number of weeks yet as its a blinded trial. As of yesterday they still had patients to dose with a 2 week dosage timeline.
Ghia,
Not ramping magic but solid logical conclusion until I can see another reasoning :-)
Forest - you may be correct.
However from the RNS it does imply COPD followed by hospital then home.
“Over the coming months we will have three major clinical trial read-outs for SNG001, our wholly-owned, inhaled IFN-beta asset: COPD patients with regular seasonal viruses; COVID-19 hospital-treated patients; and the early treatment of COVID-19 patients in the home setting. The Company is active on many fronts from designing and managing novel trials to developing the regulatory strategy and supply chain for potential demand in the future."
RNS say COPD interim results will be announced in the summer.
I may be being a bit pedantic but summer starts from 20 June - 22 September - so that is my logic of the timeframe
I personally think the Covid hospital trial results will be announced first but that's just my opinion.
Crookie - I think the interesting point is whoever wants to see the data doesn’t want to wait to fill the extra 11 patients or for the covid trial to complete.
Many funding options discussed, buyout, licensing or large stake of company acquired in the form of a placing bringing on the new partner and additional cash for phase 3 trials and production.
Ok thanks for bringing me up to speed. Are we speculating partner or take over? I presume the former as the question I have always asked is why would someone buy the company without any substantial proof the product works? This theory has some legs as they clearly stated in the placing that they were raising money for partnering discussions and stated the COPD element. I can see why they would want to get the results now as having data from Covid and COPD would be a much stronger bargaining base to negotiate from. Why would you not want the evidence and data from your key work stream on the table?
Some really deep wise words on here tonight! And one way or another we are all pretty much on the same page ! GLA
It was a glorious moment of ramping magic from Nolupus!
Crookie - The theory proposed is that the sudden change of tack on the COPD readout was triggered by an interested party waiting in the wings wanting to do due diligence.
Nolupus can you repost your theory please? I have missed it. Relates to the COPD results?
I stand by the belief that there is evidence to come on who’s position has changed. 6th May last confirmed trading by Lansdowne 70p plus, 27th May SP 45p. Big after hours trades everyday, constant morning drop in the SP all the evidence points to them clearing the deck IMO. The company is in a better position now than on the 6th of May!!! The only doubt is a lack of confirmation. The only other reason I can see for the drop is what some have mentioned Covid Hot Money people jumping from share to share. I keep fixing my thoughts on the long road that ultimately leads to someone taking all this off the little company’s hands and at what price, is it just a thought though? Weeks like this really test your strength. I saw it before in another share seller cleared and SP rerated, keeps my faith and focus. By August we will have 3 sets of results, if they all fail at least I can feel we gave it a bloody good go. If all 3 succeed it will feel like the journey is just beginning. Thankfully I have taken the mentality I don’t need to touch them so can see through until the end, I just hope for all who I have seen post with hope and optimism that we succeed. But most of all support fighting a pandemic that has ultimately changed all of our lives.
Nolupus - You where one of the first to voice that theory I give you that.
The 2-3weeks is a figure that had been discussed for many weeks in relation to the covid trials.
Since the COPD is 109 patients one would assume it will take a similar time to analyse.
Ghia,
Give back to Cesar , :-)
The scientists on advfn had'nt noticed anything until I brought up the subject !
Not blowing my Trumpit , but being fair :-)
I think your right Ghia, COVID buyers trying to make a fast buck. They could be kicking themselves in a few weeks because they have not researched whats going on here. They deserve to lose money for that mistake!..oh well!
Oil - I think COVID brought many here so the delay till
July put people off.
I’m not sure the penny has dropped that COPD might be released in June and the significance of that.
So basically somewhere between the 7th - 14th June we should have, what is possibly a transformational RNS and people cant wait for it?...wow. Some things truly amaze me sometimes. Are these results not wanted more than the hospital trial data? They are by me!
ok ghia thanks
A few of the scientists on ADVFN are saying 2-3weeks.
