Hi Spectre,
How huge are we talking about pls?
Evening all...
Spectre
Yes I agree with you about the excitement
The issue of course is that until we know..we don't know
Obvious ...
but all that MOST folk on chat boards can do is to try to research and then guess intelligently what is actually happening behind the scenes ...
and position accordingly
If the scale in Guercif is anything like suggested, we could be sitting on a highly valuable asset
I forget the exact maths but its well above £2 per share...
possibly WELL above
Hard to publish such stuff without being accused of ramping
There were vast arrays of folk who claimed similarly re GKP...
As I keep pointing out, it delivered just over the magic 100 bags
The geological structures are not similar...one being in the Zagros complex thrusted fold belt.many outfits thought they could shoot fish in a barrel but few did
Of course GKP was led to Shaikan by the wonderful curry friend of mine Adnan Samarrai...chief oil finder to Saddam Hussein
I see Adnan whenever he is over from Erbil...
I have the utmost respect for him
Is Paul Griffith's another Adnan?
Jury is out but yes he could be!

GRH - Thank you for taking the time to respond, much appreciated and informative.
A possible One TCF from the MOU 4 Prospect makes the Guercif Project huge if it comes off. Reason I asked about Conoco was that "to me" Paul seemed to communicate suppressed excitement at the end of the RNS where he says Conoco moving in next door was an "exciting development". Almost the last words of the entire release.
Mr Castro, the new non-exec, has worked in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance and the capital markets with experience in executing complex M&A. There are great times ahead for PRD, the BOD must be working flat out on all the different aspects of the three projects. As everyone is saying just gotta be patient and let things roll - hopefully more info re FRAM tomorrow with Malcy.
All the best
Forgot to point out the obvious..
Provided PRD hits at Guercif, it appears the CP licence is on trend..part of the same structure..so they might conclude success by PRD will help derisk their licence...extra bite of the cherry
Morning all...Spectre
You asked my view re Morocco ...
and Conoco taking the adjacent licence
FWIW...
apologies if this is teaching grandmother to suck eggs...
I have no special insight into CP's thinking:
Big companies are more risk averse than you might think...
They often prefer to enter an area once it has been proved in a commercial sense
Even if it costs them more to do it in that order...
generally their balance sheets are not under the same pressures as smaller outfits so they can use their purchasing power to eliminate a large element of risk
But they do like to engage in BIG things...the prospects need to have both scale and commercial terms that provide a potentially high ROI..all projects will compete for capital with all other projects in their 'pool'
Everyone on the Sound chat boards seemed convinced that because Morocco holds significant volumes of hydrocarbons, it must be easy to extract in COMMERCIAL volumes...
they even suggested the Tendrara licence was homogeneous!
very very wrong as I pointed out several times there..
I was shouted down by many of course
What was sought of course was hydrocarbon ENERGY
IE hydrocarbons keen to escape to surface...not some limited turgid puddles..hi
The discovery at the Tendrara 5 Horst structure was not made by Sound...indeed they failed to make even a single new discovery and drilled incessantly in incorrect locations despite superior technical advice provided by my RSDD-H colleagues...
our auditable track record there (and at Badile in Italy) was 100% correct in every respect
I mention this as it shows that it is not spearing fish in a barrel
But well known and respected in e&p circles is a bloke called Paul Griffiths
Indeed during his tenure with Tendrara, he achieved great success...that was pre Sound getting the licence and shouting loudly about it
Paul's style is to speak softly and carry an AK47
Conoco will know that
I have met with him briefly and he was very convinced about what he had found...thermogenic gas in great volumes but at shallow depth..cheap to drill ...the holy grail of exploration
For reasons of clarity here, I can tell you that he is not currently using RSDD-H
Overall my hunch is that he will tie up a farm down deal...possibly with CP...and that such deal will kick in upon success with the first drill...whilst we still hold full 75% field licence equity!
Obviously the terms available to PRD upon drilling success would be more favourable than when a tiny company with a licence seeks a big partner to provide money AND assume drill risk!
Overall I have told you nothing you did not already know but I hope the ramblings are of some use
I am sorry that I am unable to tell delve into detail for various reasons
