Fair point Saintsmith, I don't recall my comment but apologies if that was the case. Definitely a lot more laid back nowadays and hectic with work anyway so only check in once and a while. Most of the time it is outside of market hours. Regardless of daily movement in the share price I personally will review my situation by the end of July. Very confident, frustrated also. That said and done I should finally be able to add a few more shares next week. This company has got me breaking all my rules of investment such is my confidence. That's not a ramp, my personal view and time will tell if we are right. GLA
I actually support your positivity Porky but my observation was that the general direction of the SP is down. 469.50 5 days ago to 419.20 today or if you prefer... 695.00 a month ago to 419.20 today. The busy news week I have been reading about happening every week for weeks better be next week. Never mind NCYT the week has been poor generally on the markets and a 1.60% increase here today doesn't cover it.
Just calling you out macT as you did me a while ago for a not Rampyramp ( IMV) Quiet chat today , twitter quiet Also. For people who listened to the webinar , life as we knew it is over . It will still be a great life but with restrictions . Testing is not going away , neither is this terrible mega flu that has affected us all . Vaccines will help until new variants emerge , but PCR and LFT tests are here to stay . Genomic sequencing and variant control detection will be the new normal and I know of no better company who can help the world to get back to how it was and how it should be .
More of a tongue in cheek ramp Saintsmith, but yep you are right. I should have put the ramp alert notice in there. :). I am frustrated as the next person but genuinely feel the tide is about to turn. There comes a point where MMs can't play their games any more.
@Bluelight It did close blue. But it could well have been 5-6% up today without these games. On a positive, the stock will ultimately need to be brought back and when it does it will help feed a rally Annoying but wanted to share the position with you.
@Wilson63 Oh I'm expecting a number of the usual posters to try and create miss trust and distraction on Twitter, to support the short, all part of the deal really.
@Surfie1961 A number of small private shorters imo did close and the SP was climbing today.
I still stand by the fact that there is little to be gained but they are banking on retail selling and not buying. This is just one shorting firm. I agree with HarChris that we have a number of catalysts that can and will push the SP higher. The sooner they arrive the better.
In the meantime you have four options; 1) Sell out and feed them, 2) Go short yourself and join them but keep one eye open in case they close first and stuff you, a number have taken that call, 3) hold and ignore them or 4) my option buy into their short in the hope others do, news drops and it becomes very expensive for them to close.
At least you know that 4.85 Euro is their in price and that was possible to support a similar level short placed earlier. So its not going to take much next week with news to take them out thats for sure.
Increasing short term price volatility and declining volume point to a bottoming to me. Volumes dropped off a cliff at this price. One decent rise and the trend followers will pile back in. Hopefully that gets supercharged with one of the upcoming potential news events.
Good sleuthing. When the share price rose from 360p to 580p in a matter of trading days I wondered if WorldQuant would double down and it turned out they did. With the DHSC dispute still hanging over novacyt and still a level of uncertainty as to what the future holds for the company, I think there just wasn't enough fire power/buying pressure to force the short to close. That rise would be trader-led more than investor-led and so once the traders had had enough and started to sell WorldQuant pick that point to short further and make back some of the paper losses.
There are a few catalysts that can push the share price up into a much higher trading range, when they finally happen I'm pretty confident World Quant will be gone in a flash.
So your prediction this morning that the SP was so low there was nothing to be gained fron shorting this further was incorrect! This bloody share is getting painful. Despite all the positive posts on here the general direction of the SP is DOWN.
Totally agree But its a great sign that they are closing Significantly better gains to be had in Crypto at the moment. If you are going to trade, that's your market at the moment. Just waiting on Word Quant now to close, that's a big short exposure they have. At the very least i would expect them to reduce exposure here especially at these price levels. Time will tell Feeling very positive about the outlook from here GLA Genuine Holders
Personally I would like to see the shorters wait just a few more days before closing their positions. That way they can be punished for an unethical practice in an ethical investment. Hit them where it hurts, the wallet. :)
One swallow doesn't make a summer but its plain obvious that with the SP this low there is not really much more you can milk out of this. We might still get a few chancers but lets be real the damage has been done and there are better targets, little left to gain at this level really.
We closed 2p down tonight, we had about 15p swing during the day if you timed high to low perfectly today (not likely for most) and risk of significant news breaking is now fairly high as we move into a news rich period.
So we can expect a) private shorters to start closing out b) buyers moving in especially in view of big revenues being confirmed and product news and contracts being confirmed and c) World Quant closing, economic madness if they don't they specifically are .80 short that's 568,000 shares short that need buying back. .48 Short from other so that's 340,800 more shares that need buying back and then you have all the individuals out there.
Also the other risk for private shorter's and chancers is IF World Quant move before they do? could get costly very quick.
