Gizmo & Troublesome……it was tongue and cheek! I was just making the point that perhaps we are facing the same issues as last year with similar timings leading up to Xmas.
Just to explain, last year, there was massive demand for last minute purchases of turkeys for Christmas as people had to cancel family gatherings due to the tiered restrictions across the country and families had to stay within their own households. Also there was a sellout of freezers as people purchased secondary storage due to panic buying caused by the lockdown. I didn’t literally mean buy stocks in freezers and turkeys! We should be fine here.
Oh and Woody9, where on earth did you get that I am preying for cases? I said on Friday that the new variant will already have crossed to Europe and the UK which I was correct on. And yes, I do want the sp to go higher, that’s what investment is about. Time to short Wetherspoons, I’ll come and visit you on that bb in a bit.
Quality diagnostic companies maybe..... Byp.... Maybe the brown paper bags have enlarged to christmas sacks
A farmassist - Lol
Maybe Red Tractor! Lol
Red card Troublesome !
Didn't want to use any fowl language !
Why Turkey ?
All I am saying, is give geese a chance.
Is it time to invest in some stocks selling turkeys or perhaps freezer manufacturers? I can see this affecting Christmas and family gatherings which is only 4 weeks away. So that emergency turkey might need to be put on standby. Who remembers the tier groups from last year and Xmas plans suddenly being called off around London and other areas?!
All viruses want to maximise their chances of reproducing, enabling their offspring to survive and reproduce.
Global access to vaccines is not only a moral imperative but the only way to "outsmart" this virus.
By not doing so, the effectiveness of vaccines is always going to be jeopardized.
Ravenox firstly I'm delighted deaths and hospitalised on the face of it are down, but I think that's because we had a dip in infections a few weeks ago and we may well unfortunately see both these figures rise.
OR people could wear masks In Public places which would help.
Acquisitions - nothing to note as of yet but I firmly believe a resolution to the dispute will spark this off.
Board - it seems settled for now, we havent seen much from David and I do not think it is helpful to attribute any SP rise to him yet, just as much as blaming Graeme for the whole drop was probably unfair too.
Trading Technicals - we have smashed the averages and yes, I understand it looks bullish but we have done this before (the last rise to 450) to see it crumble to new lows. As Hillseeker says the huge volume yesterday is very encouraging.
Sentiment - This appears to have sharply swung in our favour but another week would go a long way to establishing this. This can also change almost overnight as we all know!
Apologies for the huge wall of text but I often like to sum up the overall position on paper and ask myself is it a net positive or negative. All through this year, this exercise has given me a positive answer and I thought sharing it might be interesting for some of the newer investors.
The million dollar question is where is the price going.. on this I advise.. where do you want to sell? Focus on your sale price/strategy and do not be swayed by wild predictions on either end of the spectrum. I personally am very bullish going into christmas but I have been wrong before!

Well, that was a fantastic, long overdue week for the share price.
BUT, lets try to keep our feet on the ground and look at everything rationally.
Concrete news first - the approval of our test - on the face of it this is excellent but we must stick to the numbers and they have touted only a 900k reduction in this year's revenue. Obviously this has a bigger impact stretching out into next year but for me the real news here is that this was the test the dispute's warranty issue centres on so to me it bodes well on that front.
Revenue - other than the above we have had no reference to revenue not being around 100M (without DHSC) for the year. I would hope for an upgrade in December given the current situation.
Omicron - Potentially very nasty indeed but we will not have a clear indication of how infectious it is for a week or two or whether it has a higher/lower hospitalisation/morbidity rate. Also how quickly will it cross borders? I note that moderna are already looking at producing a specific booster.
Europe Infections - Soaring with notable rates of hospitalisation/death, probably most relevant to us is Germany as we do a fair amount of business there. It remains to be seen how/if restrictions/lockdowns/boosters bring this under control or the potential impact of Omicron.
Uk Infections - High but with deaths/hospitalizations reducing most likely from the impact of the booster campaign. Will this continue? Omicron also relevant here.
Dispute - Unclear where this is but I would assume Novacyt's hand has been strengthened somewhat this week. Remember we are or at least were sticking to our guns here so a wait is not always a bad thing.
Future Contracts - Unclear but hopefully the increase in our presence in America will bear fruit and Poidster's very interesting posts (as usual) about the new community hubs is definitely something to keep an eye on.
Misc. - approval of further tests are low hanging fruit for further RNSs that will keep momentum going and as mentioned we have other R&D projects like the 10 min test that could provide a pleasant surprise.
