Not sure which opinion of mine you are addressing
Think my comments more or less reflect yours.
Troublesome: "We're going to trial" actually means "we're going to trial ...... unless something unexpected, like an offer that is too good to refuse, happens to change that". Nothing is ever written in stone, the words are simply a statement of the current position and reflect his determination to see it through to a proper conclusion.
It amazes me that some here interpret Tenner’s words to rule out a settlement. He is NEVER going to give even the slightest hint that this will happen. Why would he risk being accused of misleading the market like that if it didn’t come off? He’s rightly focused on trial because at the moment t those are the cards we’ve been dealt. If a settlement is agreed then it will come out of the blue.
I’m feeling much more relaxed now that our experts are allowed to testify. Brandi Cossairt is a very impressive woman (look her up) and will do some damage on the witness stand. Like Sammy I’m fairly agnostic now about whether this goes to trial or not, but Samsung has so much to lose (and I’m not referring to money here) and I doubt they will run that risk.
If ever those of you who have drawn the conclusion that Samsung won't settle on the strength what they've unsurprisingly said to date (whether you genuinely believe that or otherwise) fancy a game of Poker, do give me a call. We cannot know either way at this stage. Settlement or Jury, makes no difference to me. I am betting on the strength of the evidence to date with money I am willing to lose - but obviously don't expect to.
I actually agree with Sammy88’s latest post.
In a way the whole debate here is a bit futile - anyway we will soon find out either way.
The only thing that can be said for certain is that Samsung acted abominably in their business dealings with N and afterwards missed several chances to find an amicable solution to the whole saga.
If they fall flat on their face in a trial justice will be served.
Just so Sammy. Samsung is playing hardball presently, in the hope NANO will lower expectations and accept whatever offer Samsung has made - just as we might expect. No need to make a serious offer until the eleventh hour.
I'm agnostic about whether we settle or go to trial.
But the idea that we are definitely going to trial relies on BT and our lawyers being able to read Samsung's minds or otherwise look into the future.
It's absolute nonsense.
No-one apart from Samsung knows whether they are prepared to make an acceptable settlement offer.

A moment in time !
BT has been advised of the latest findings by his lawyers and released that RNS based on their feedback. They have clearly also advised him that Samsung have no intention of settling pre-trial and expect to submit a defence in court that they believe has a chance of success. That’s the only conclusion that can be arrived at despite how much we might prefer an early settlement.
Just had to share this article about fruit flies in case someone was offended :

Hi NGR. The case could either settle early or go to trail as you suggest, and possibly also appeal (as PTAB is doing).
Obviously, an early and satisfactory conclusion us suits best but it could go either way and what will be will be. If there is no settlement we need to win the Court case and carry on, which will benefit the SP even if no money changes hands just yet.
I will be sitting tight either way, at least until there is news on IR sensors, which has potential to be as transformational as the Court case.
For the record I very much hope they will not settle. I want a brutal damages award on file.
I doubt that they will settle, although some indicate there is a possibility. Anything is possible.
No-one has done any of that nigwit. The only person on this board that I have seen state any absolutes is you. Everyone else has said maybe. Learn to read, and try to interpret.
Perhaps that’s bargaining tactics.?
If Tenner settled before trial, could his words ever be trusted again ?
@NGR1616
Samsung are entitled to a defence but I'm not really clear what it is ?
Confirmation bias is the single most perilous hazard to investment. It’s usually only after you’ve been badly burned that you appreciate the precept by which point it’s too late. Clearly Samsung think they have a defence so why would they settle no matter how willing BT might be.
So we’re going to trial. I firmly believe that to be the case and others are perfectly entitled to their own opinions as long as it’s arrived at sensibly.
Or reading the musings of a self-alienated fruit case !
Nigwitty, what was the purpose of your last sentence? You make perfectly valid points but then aim an insult, surely just to inflame.
105 posts of mostly ****€. Glad I wasn’t tuned in all day.
I wondered if you could filter on this site, so glad you can.
On the basis that he disrupts every topic he posts on I think we should all filter him.
It would help those of us who filter NigWitt/ Beingthebanker or whatever not to repeat his contributions in yours.
NigWit, the market is made up of many different investors with differing levels of knowledge, differing levels of understanding, differing views, differing appetites for risk, differing levels of willingness to sell at a loss, differing financial constraints and timelines. They collectively set the price based on bids and offers. Some of them may value the share closer to its true technical value and some may be far off, though no-one really knows. And they may ALL be wrong, as was pointed out earlier today with the example 2008 financial crash.
Your statement that the market is ahead of US is utter nonsense. Utter nonsense. I used to listen to you but you are increasingly demonstrating your lack of credibility.
Go on tell me (US ALL) how I'm blinkered because I am challenging your view.
Do you always seek to alienate yourself from the entire room? This must have come up in your quest to understand human behaviour.
Had one last punt today at 44.7. Price dropping back has been a blessing didn’t think I’d get in sun 50p before the trial, especially after today’s RNS yet here we are.
Settlement still odds on IMO
@NigWitty
Out of interest, what are your weaknesses ?
Don't think I've ever known you admit to any but seem very quick to point out those we 'all' apparently suffer from !
