I'm not sure we're talking about same Metro Bank,
Data I see is a bit different, even if you mean EBT
https://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/prices/stocks/summary/fundamentals.html?fourWayKey=GB00BZ6STL67GBGBXSSMM
Profit After Tax 2014/-£41.11M ... 2015/-£49.20M ... 2016/-£16.75M ... 2017/+£10.79M ... 2018/+£27.10M
And recent quarter/semester data isn't that bright.
YF. It made £20.8m in 2017 and £50m in 2018. It can do it again. Just takes patience. I;m holding for 2 to 5 years. Not a short termer.
What do you think the divided will be when its making £100m a year??
BoE has all MFI statistics monthly and some daily (e.g. overnight borrowing rates/volumes),
so whole system aggregated data is open/available to everyone.
> Interest on deposits (current accounts, term/saving deposits)
> Interest on loans/mortgages (fixed and variable, short and long-term)
> Value of deposits and loans, structure (business/retails)
etc..
It's all open data (although coming through with slight delay)
If any bank starts having problems (or whole system because of say some larger scale stress) - interbank interest rates tend to jump up immediately.
With all of it - is relatively easy to work-out approximate difference between revenue (interest) on loans/mortgages+other services net costs (opex/ depo and bond interst rates/etc.), especially taking into account situation with other banks (on residual principle) and historic internal data (quarterly accounts)
When the SP was £40, EPS was 19p for the previous year giving a PE ratio of 211. Yes SP is linked to risk although the question is does FCA fine, extra interest payments from bond and search for new chairman take the PE from 211 to 10 as you are suggesting? I think not. The key issue for me, bigger than all of these 3 risks, is ensuring deposit inflows have kept up their run rate of £300m a month as this will provide the cash to grow the business after which the share price will take care of itself.
Re: investor6 - ... We raised a £375m placing at £5. Metro started at £20 and went to £40!!!...
SP is normally bind to ability of generating profits/cash-flow (EPS) adjusted for risk.
MTRO at present hardly covers costs, and next couple of years won't be easy either.
The moment Metro shows prospects of generating EPS close to say 50p/£2/£4 - SP will get where you're dreaming about (£5/£20 or even £40), unless there's someone to squeeze free float from market to push price without these factors.
Investor6 - I’m holding this and not deramping I want to see this rise and make us all a few quid but some of the stuff I read last week looking at the technical analysis etc is pretty concerning that’s why I reduced down at a smallish loss
£1.40 ????? what planet are people on? We raised a £375m placing at £5. Metro started at £20 and went to £40!!! MREL sorted, Big V GONE. More branches opening
All we need is a new Chair and FCA sorting.
If No Deal and extension this will be back to £5 by xmas and by April at least £10
crazy some folks think there is no money in money anymore.
CASH IS KING. and cash is our biz.
... probably less than cash at hand.
"Just trying to give another view. "
so, you think that the entire value of the MTRO enterprise is £230M?
I imagine by Jan this will be £4
What's the problem Smoke? Just trying to give another view. Everyone's been bullish on here all the way down.
go back to ADVFN, garydav2
No longer will it be a closed period so expect Big Vern and the directors to be buying cheap shares IF a new low happens. It won’t stay there for to long. I expect a bounce upwards. £2.50 first target.
So all very bullish projections in the main there.
I will counter that if we get bad news we are looking at £1.40...
It's all about - profit- FCA - Governance
-If loss of more than £3m - No News of FCA or Governance - £2
- If loss of £1m - No News of FCA or Governance - £2 (plus or minus 3%)
- If profit of anything above £1m - No news pf above - £2.20 - £2.50
- If loss of £1m - New Chair - £2.50 plus
- If profit of anything above £1m - New Chair - £2.70 and will rise through week.
If a People Vote, add in 20%
If No deal, remove 20%
