see a doctor ?...yur having a laugh ...
yur expected to ask Alexa or Mr Google .....that's about as good as it gets
Even got to the point where you have to look at Youtube to learn how to pull your own teeth out
Free prescriptions are only a benefit if you can see a doctor, we've got no chance down here. Trump and Nigel gonna sort that though.
" You will have the children cleaning out the chimneys and working down the pits again. "
Nah...we've moved on from that ...they clean out the deep fat fryers at KFC and work down the Amazon warehouse these days .... them lucky them kids are
'So LTI, you are grudging us our good health and education?''
I am giving you the reason why your socialist government has the money to spend
Mnc
''take a look at the real world.''
The real world says that for every living soul in Scotland an extra £1500 is available to be spent on them due to subsidies. This results in being able to get free prescriptions, no waiting to see a doctor, appointments the same day, care for the elderly, good education, etc...''
Higher Taxes in Scotland are a given cos of its low population density very expensive place to run. Even the least populated area of England would have at least 3x more people for the same area. Not economically viable I'd fk it off personally, give it to the Alaskans they could make it work.

''You can earn 40k & only pay 20% tax now''
Basic rate band may increase under BJ. Due to fiscal drag a high rate tax that was set to hit a well off million people,
has over time meant we have a situation where it hits about 4 million, with many not well off.
Some people get confused.
They think that it is a socialist Scottish government that is providing rather than
UK subsidies
Its never been a better time to be in work, 12k personal allowance before your taxed a penny! You can earn 40k & only pay 20% tax now. If more phukkers tried working a bit more & claiming a bit less benefits we might be able to raise the tax free allowance to 15k. Certainly sounds better than standing in a shitty paddy field.
The English & Welsh pay for their free prescriptions I wouldn't mind but they all wear specs & are fat LTI.
'' this means free prescriptions, no waiting to see a doctor, appointments the same day, care for the elderly, good education, etc...''
Paid for by whom?
" They're all a bit tight & risk averse up there "
haha....sounds like me utrickytrees .... a wee little step forward in favour of two mighty steps back has always been my method !! ..... Tesco can take on the Americans if they want to ...but... financially ...it would have been far better if they had just sat on their a*se and stayed at home !!
Wealth is distributed better to people who work in a capitalist economy which is why it will never be popular in places like Scotland. They're all a bit tight & risk averse up there unall which aren't great ingredients for a successful capitalist economy either.
" Boris Johnson has appointed Iain Duncan Smith as his “campaign chairman”, "
hummm sounding like Cyrano de Bergerac.... BJ is gonna have JRM and IDS turn the bubbling jibba jabba into coherent prose so that BJ can woo the Voter
Not to say the impossible argument about should it be
all capitalism or all socialism doesn't pass the time and entertain of course.
The question of which would win, a lion or a bear is nearly as much fun and equally impossible to resolve until someone asks, which lion and which bear. It might still be hard to answer, or not, but at least there's a chance once its not just imaginary.
Successful economies today are a mix of capitalist and socialist ideas. That iincorporates both private and public ownership, with the means to control the excesses of both. It is best to base thinking on what is best for a given thing in light of all the factors. Starting with fixed ideas of models like socialism or capitalism being the whole answer is like saying "this is the answer, now what is the question. It leads to problems. There's a legitimate debate about where the lines are drawn on a case by case basis but not much sense in saying one "ism" fits all. Unless the isms are realism and pragmatism.
It works better than any other system for the majority. Fact! Or are you denying the loosening of Chinese central planning in 1976 by Dung didn't lift a collosal number of ppl placed in poverty by socialism. All socialism means is giving politicians more power. I value my freedom even if you don't.
Poker I like your posts. I accept there is market failure in capitalism. Generally speaking replacing the market with a political solution involves handing excessive amounts of power to a small group of ppl. This concentration of power almost always means less wealth is created as the powerful destroy incentives to succeed. With a handful of exceptions giving up freedom to make individual decisions and hand them to a political elite makes things worse not better. It's why socialism never has worked anywhere and most likely never will.
" Just because capitalism is unfair, unjust and at times cruel don't pretend there is a better system. There isn't."
Shouldnt you have used the term "another system" ?
If you ever give up the idea of believing that Capitalism can be " better " , then you are clearly giving in to those who make it unjust and unfair etc ..
Socialism is the politics of envy. In every sense it's a bizarre homeopathy that makes the poor poorer in almost all cases. Just because capitalism is unfair, unjust and at times cruel don't pretend there is a better system. There isn't.
The politics of envy do not appeal to me.
Fair play to anyone who makes good as far as I am concerned.
Honesty and jealously are not good bedfellows.
Be honest, who knows someone who bought into the RBS rights issue in 2008 at 200p per share (after the 10-for-1 consolidation the current RBS share price would need to reach 2,000p per share for them to break even).
I feel very sorry for the lies the average UK citizen gets told by the bankers, the media, and the politicians.
As Oxo42 said life is extremely complex and a lot of people think that they know far more than they really do. The world would be a far better place if people could become a little less arrogant. However, if anyone could convince Wayne Rooney to drop a few million into an overpriced right's issue then I don't think many people would shed a tear. What is Wayne Rooney doing for the national interest despite being paid £15 million per year?
Then again what does Bill Gates really contribute despite his net worth of $80 Billion? I mean Microsoft was an okay idea - but since then has he really made the world a better place? A lot of people I know don't really want to spend so much time at computers as they are required to by their employers. So Bill Gates is not a hero in the eyes of these people who would prefer to spend more time with their friends and family and less time stuck answering pointless emails for $12 per hour.
Yes this post is probably not going to make me massively popular. But better an honest person than everyone trying to sweep a few crumbs from the table for themselves whilst the rest of the castle burns.
