"US$2 Billion NPV Valuation of El Sauz and Fleur Lithium Project, Mexico. (22 December 2014)
The NPV is achieved with a constrained optimised pit shell of an average of 69,800 tonnes of lithium carbonate per annum over an initial 20-year mine life, with an average of 75,600 tonnes of lithium carbonate per annum between years 2-19."
The valuation / NPV is of course dependant on the mine plan, that's the point.
@EV as in the market only remembers the highest value given without factoring in that the price of Li has increased what.... 4 fold in the interim!!
LoL - you should know as well as most that I'll post what I post, when I want to in the manner I see fit so whether I repeat it, when & how often remains to be seen ....
@degsie, Phew (wipes brow) sweat over....Good lol ;-)
DD I was not suggesting that KDNC should accept £20m. To me it just confirms that KDNC is very undervalued
Yes, I think this was aimed at you @Bannor

47:01 "the market seems to only remember the highest valuation that I quote without taking into account these changes"
Time to give it a rest on that one
Yes at least stick a Zero on it to match what KM said it could be worth in Dec 2018 & well..... OK change the currency indicator to $ as well if you must ....
Just repeating what was said on the 'missing' webinar LoL :-))
@degsie, IMO there would be four brown envelopes involved if we were to accept a £20M buyout.
Thats why the idea that they would sit on it for years to save a few bucks makes no sense.
£20m for Sonora is small change to Ganfeng.
5,500,000,000 Chinese Yuan equals £644,341,124 Pound sterling US$869,276,595 does anyone really think they can't / won't spend $50m acquiring our share of Sonora?
I am sure this has been mentioned before but could we not just put our part of Sonora on the market to be bought by the highest bidder?
Tesla Lithium Supplier Ganfeng Says Profit Soared As Much As 437% In 2021

The longer that Ganfeng ‘sit on it’ the higher the value grows. The pressure is on to do a deal sooner rather than later.
Millennial Lithium...
I guess it depends to a large degree on whether you think Ganfeng will need to go big in Sonora to meet their stated corporate objectives, noting they failed in their $281m bid for Millennium Lithium in the Summer.
(From November, market sentiment towards Lithium has improved substantially since!)

So Ganfeng bid C$353m ($281m) for a 24ktpa operation. Very roughly, as there are many things to take into account, we might value our 10.5ktpa of the potential additional 35ktpa South Pit operation at $125m. Clearly, NPV, IRR, CapEx and other factors should be taken into account for the comparison which could swing this valuation either way, but to the first order, $125m feels about right - although 35ktpa could be 40ktpa or much higher given the scalability of the resource!
But note that Ganfeng's original C$353m offer was outbid, first by CATL's C$377m offer, which was then blown out the water by Lithium America's C$495m offer ($400m)
$400m for a 24ktpa operation would value our 10.5ktpa at $175m - to the highest bidder under current market conditions.

The ‘Hanging fruit’ is in the JV’s
Thanks Obs, that’s well worth re reading.
I think with the increasing demand for lithium and the Chinese focus on Electric Vehicles that there will be pressure on Gangfeng to produce, I’ve not researched our part of the mining area but I guess the ‘low hanging fruit’ will be mined first
Because Ganfeng play hard ball ! They dont vitally need the JV right now and if they cant get it dirt cheap they will sit on it, it is very clear how Ganfeng operate, the Chinese share with no man !
Indeed @Evan. More than 60% of the Sonora Lithium RESERVES are in the joint venture lands.
