Nice positive auction, bounced up 6% from its low, I think it has found its feet. Having dropped 30% in one calendar month, I think this is a good entry point. A good strong airline/ holiday company which understands service.
nothing i can see in the numbers that warrant this drop.... so my money is on it being caused by Meeson selling a chunk of his shares -- he quite often does post results. Has around 42m shares I think that he is been gradually monetizing, sold 2m shares in November post half year report and 2m this time last year post the annual.
To buy right now would be a gamble, this is a falling knife atm, let it settle and then re assess. Also with the airport’s getting worse with delays etc expect a barrage of bad news hitting the press over the school summer holidays, also with a recession on its way, political uncertainty, unstable fuel prices investing in any airline or holiday company right now is a big risk.
11 cancelled Departures giving a Top 99.8% followed by Ryan air with same % but 27 cancels.
Easy jet is below the 97.2% average at 95.4% with 742 cancels
Capes lol
They have more in the bank now than last year you tool
Last year was covid ECT into 2023 will be much better
MM’s selling off book, to hit 750p me thinks, there will be a few stop losses triggered there, if this goes tits up, IAG are going to get fecking hammered on the 29th.
It is the jewel in the Crown of British Aviation/Tourism the only outfit that was prepared for the uptick, nowt but a good old shake, get them PI’s to sell with their weak hands. I have sank my trading account into this, at these prices it would be a crime to ignore.
Your comment on jet2 cancelling flights is pure bull sh.. They are one of the only airlines that hasn’t cancelled many flights. Where do you get your crap information.
Jet2 just lost £488 million, and its Capex is only £1.5 billion.
It over expanded started running flights from ares like Bristol where they are often cancelled , leaving customers fuming and angry, which means no repeat business.
On top, they have just promised every employees a £1000 bonus payment at the end of September, and that is on top of a 8% pay rise.
Its bad enough the UK chancellor was paying JET2 wages for 18 months, now the company is losing £1.7 million a day and giving shareholder money away.
Another Monarch Thomas Cook insight here
Just bought another load at 7.94.
Next results will be another sack of monkeys all together.
Miserable as no spare cash to buy in at give away price.
Managed to buy a second tranche at 788p. The figures are to the end of March, the Industry did not going until the second quarter. Interesting that 35% of package holidays sold, is to new Customers, that figure is positive but bonkers, not many companies can lay claim to that. In today’s market, any news is bad news and with the avalanche of PI’s the City Boys will always be shaking the tree, this does not make sense to me. By tomorrow afternoon we would have made up the gains and even then I will be tempted to hold.
in at 786

fingers crossed !
yeah i'm seeing that too Teddy
Not letting you buy in HL, seen this many times, get the shakers out and hold.

Hope so leas, but happy to accumulate at this price.

Could have gone the opposite way. Day not over yet and city boys/girls not at their desks.
Yes in hindsight should have waiting until these results before investing “that’s hindsight for you”. But the recovery starts now. A little disappointed of future outlook, would of liked a bit more information, but have added a “few” more this morning and will keep adding up to next trading update.
Madness, couldn’t resist to jump in at these prices. It might be a quick trade, but makes sense to hold for 6 months.

Looks pretty impressive to me given the circumstances it has been operating in. Totally customer focused to which will result in picking up those customers who have been disappointed with its competitors.
A very satisfactory annual report imo and an enjoyable read first thing. I am confident that my investment in this company is well placed and look forward to to the next few holiday seasons with optimism.
