Cracking buying chaps ;)
If you're wondering why when the CPI is off half a per cent it's because they've thrown +1.5bps at it and it's barely touched it.
Moreover, as the Fed are said to concentrate on the Core number re rates, that is significantly down which implies that the Fed will at least pause in September (ahead of mid-terms - go figure ...) which also means that inflation is likely to have free reign to keep going sideways at c8% and that's an awful lot of compounding inflation over the longer-term which is what they really want of course.
Number must go up.
Nice!
Massive Gold spike > $1,800
CPI 0.0% M/M, Exp. 0.2%
CPI 8.5% Y/Y, Exp. 8.7%
CPI Core 0.3% M/M, Exp. 0.5%
CPI Core 5.9% Y/Y, Exp. 6.1%
CPI tomorrow lunchtime chaps.
Love this:

That's a big un.
*US 2Q Unit Labor Costs +10.8%; Consensus +9.5%
*US 2Q Non-Farm Productivity -4.6%; Consensus -5.0%
Labour costs up.
Productivity down.
Must..have..inflation..
If you don't understand what the quote means then whats the point of recalling it?
Bonker,
What is GDX/J?
Please explain your thoughts and reasoning.
Interested.

All we can do, is back our judgment, darren123,.....for myself, I had been averaging our HUM Gross Average s/p up,....selling the final tranche on 11/07/2022, emptying our trading account (last sale at s/p@9.56p) of HUM shares ,....but retaining our Core HUM (ISA) shareholdings, resulting in a Gross Average s/p@55.66705p, leaving me plenty of head room, to average our HUM back down, with the Funds released from sales of HUM shares in the trading account,.....I started to average back down Friday, reducing our current HUM Gross Average s/p@36p exactly, I did consider reducing our Gross Average HUM s/p down to 13p level on Friday, but decided a cautious approach was best.

New all time lows, was thinking of averaging down but tired of keep doing only to see further falls. Bit of a joke company now
The exact quote from the oracle of Omaha -
"It's far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price than a fair company at a wonderful price."
"I bought a few today. Couple yesterday too. Not completely sure why I do this to myself....."
At this price I'm tempted too Swampmonster....but so far I've resisted
Problem is, I keep on recalling the wise words of a certain well known investor....
Better to buy a good company at a fair price, than a fair company at a good price....

With HUM Market Cap of £30m approx, Swampmonster,....today, I have also started to average, our HUM shareholdings, back down.

I just wish we would all stop talking about the share price. There is nothing to be learned by talking about how down we all are here.
If we think this now has a bad risk reward we can sell and leave and be done with it.
If we think this still has a favourable risk reward or we just want to stay for whatever reason we can then fine.
But going on about ' wow its now down to 7p i thought we wouldnt see 7p until the autumn, i was gonna buy at 10p thank god i didnt ' is just the most fruitless route of thought i've ever heard.
I have shares here i bought at 38.5p ( not many mind you ) and i don't give it any thought i just want to weigh up whether we can make Kouroussa sell gold, how much debt we will have when this goes off and whether we sell Dugbe or something else and for how much.
I honestly don't care about anything else. I agree with you regarding the walking down of pricing for some reason unknown to us too, unlikely and again i don't care.
Fwiw, I won't be selling at this sort of price, but it doesn't mean I have to be happy about it.
And also, fwiw, I've been averaging down for a good while, so don't tell me if I'll be buying or not.
As for a single digit average, my missus bought some sub 10 and she's also well down already.
Bonker, the suggestion that the board is deliberately walking down to this level is frankly bonkers imo.
But let's see.
Yeah whatever the point is of the negativity the last update was the most positive for 18 months and suggests operationally we are focused in the right way.
Now is the worst time to sell given the update. Obviously if this positive update was just an anomaly and the next one is awful that's a different matter.
I love how many people go on about predicting the share price here and saying i'd buy at 13s or 12s where the board did, then i'd buy at 9 then i'd buy at 8 and now 5p.
You'll never buy anything lol. Just go and buy something else somewhere you're happy.
I won't be swooning at your emotive language or dumping any of my shares down here but then your post/language isn't aimed at me ;)
GL getting your shares at whatever price - if the fix is well and truly in (BOD behavior so far suggests it is) then they'll drop another **** q3 in October and go for 4p imo.
They could try for that sooner/now of course but the timing is wrong imo and I doubt they'll break 6s anytime soon.
This is beginning to get even more worrying than it already was.
The way this has fallen, I'd guess somone knows this is going to fail, let alone thinks it's a possiblity.
To think I was looking to add at low 8's just a week or two back.
5 is beginning to look a better bet now.
Anyone want to bet against?.
Certainly has been so far.
Would 10% get you a seat on the board so you could find out just wtf they've been up to this past year?
At just £3m I'd go for it if I was minted lol
I think Humm IS the poison pill!
That's 2.75m oz of reserves, 5.28m oz of resources both net to HUM of course.
Agree about a bid cherry, I mentioned it the other day as I've never seen numbers like these being openly offered to the market before and in a sector that's capturing significant interest/money right now. I think we can all agree that people managing to turn a loss from a gold mine (ffs!) should give all pause for thought but when the numbers become as eye-watering as these then it's hard to ignore, right?
I wonder if the company regs have a poison pill clause ...
Thanks for the computation, used to hold Hecla while ago probably in 2019, currently my best performing shares are Santa Cruz silver and CMC metals
