Uu romping up
They'll be plenty of ups and downs whilst there's a quid buck to be made but best be in by the next update, as the last one proved when it shocked us all in a day.
Halma.yep utilities my favourite is UU steady boring share no drama unless Labour get in and take back control of water and railways and so on :-))))))))........:-)))))) you've got to laugh but it brought down water shares a good bit that rumour did ..1st of all where was the money coming from to buy them back? Seven trent United utilities stick em in you pension pot long long term hold ..Now then greggs lets have ya who didn't buy their sausage rolls this week?? We should be pushing £27 by now ah Bank Holiday Monday ruined it :-)))
Should have said 'As shares go' and like the utilities, proving to be a relative safe haven over the long term but even in the short term, opportunities have been there ready to grasp
The drop below £12 last year was the greatest one of all if you took advantage, the recent climb above £27 was another and most certainly offers reassurance that, come the next update on full trading capacity,
The numbers should stack up and take them on further.
Oh no don't say safe should say and greggs :-))) I've only had half a lager today :-))) ..ah that's where I'm going wrong I should be on pints ;-))
Oh no dodon'say dafe no share is safe :-( but I do agree gteggs is going to be a cash cow over next few year they are closing a few smaller shops to open bigger ones on better access site too
Greggs are a money making machine and their business model fits in with current lifestyles, I have 2000 shares in the company and feel overjoyed to see the queues out the door.
As safe a bet as you'll ever get and I'll keep buying as I see them as a £30 share in the future.
Take a good look around the likes of pret a manger Starbucks greggs they are all busy and the restrictions arnt fully lifted yet now add a predicted good summer...I mean ffs if you can't spot a gem as in your face as greggs maybe investing isn't for you ...do your own research....
Nuri...take a real look at greggs no debt will start paying it dividend again in tbe near future its all cash and I trade what I see I see greggs constantly selling their goods and things will improve over next few months as long as boris lifts all restrictions on the 21st of June is it? Things are on the up and come September when furlough is stopped all those lazy stuffy basstards who have been sat at home will have to go back to work and they'll need feeding and the greggs are full now and you can't see the potential? ...REALLY?
Danvestment
Good luck with your short...not.
I was in my local Greggs which is normally packed pre pandemic - EMPTY now. I don't get the bullishness on this. I'm gutted that I watched it float all the way up and it breaks my heart to have put a short on now. I may lose but can't understand why it should be going higher. I think their revenue expectations are full of SH*T
"IMO the shares are worth £2"
I'm glad you're not on my list of financial advisors.
@nuri123a I'd love to know the maths behind how you reach that valuation.
Nuri123a, what planet are you on….significant losses?.?….really… yes they made a loss of 13m but sales are picking up and they state are going back to roughly 2019 levels. “High streets are is disarray”…I think you need to do a bit more research…do you really think that Greggs stores are only on the high street?? May you could explain your pitiful £2 valuation…are you any relation to GavWallace?
Well, the market doesn't agree with you. This is a well managed, adaptable company with good value products that people like.
Nuri.
Think what you like. Some of us know a well-managed company looks like.
Can't understand how this is heading to £26. IMO the shares are worth £2. This company has made signficant losses and the high street is in disarray - cannot figure out what others are seeing here. Growth prospects are neglible. Other companies out there are a much better bet. Strong sell.
Funnily enough we got coffee and I was impressed. I'm not sure the people there knew that. The sitting area was outside Starbucks but not Greggs. I also know some people like Starbucks' distinct taste (not for me but I know people who like it).
Greggs coffee is as good as starbucks, cafe nerro.
Went to a Greggs on a trading estate next to a Starbucks drive-through. They were limiting customers to 4 in the shop at a time, but there was a constant queue outside at 2:30pm! Lots of tradespeople but quite a few grabbed food from Greggs and coffee from Starbucks, where they sat outside munching away.
This was a Greggs I think only opened in the last year or so. Had a real Peter Lynch moment watching people from the car. Definitely happy to hold and waiting for a pullback to top up.
