'selling' (yes maybe, to Rio or Barrick, who knows?), but 'walking' (highly unlikely IMO!)
ATB :-)
Hi Malcom. Please do not lose your bottle, selling at a loss is not a good idea. You have invested in a once in a life time opportunity, stocks like this are one in a thousand. Hold and watch your funds grow to buying that house as opposed to a deposit. If you sell i will be forced to come round and give you a slap (only joking) ATB Speedy
people forget we were 3p back in march!
No not sold. Very heated conversations. Will hold on until at least the end of the month. Thank you all for steadying me. Still 8.4% down today. But no risk no reward.
Hi Malcolm,
just about every month this year GGP has spiked and retraced. The majority of retraces dropped by around 18%.
A retrace in June was the smallest at around 6% and the worst was March at over 40%
These spikes and retraces are normal.
Frankly, it could be a double bluff game, IMHO.
However, going forward, the FACTUAL fundamentals of Havieron alone will always win here!
GLA!
Phew, onwards and upwards.
Matt almost passed out, read Newcrest walking! Dont do that to me pal
San
All good fun in the GGP long term investor history of things!
Nothing new here!
GLA & DYOR
Well done Matty,
Whoever it was who called 17.80 as the bottom was spot on, nearly loaded up on that call too.
Value will out here...
Hope you didn't sell Malcolm...???
Malcom
If I'd have sold after Newcrest walked I would have ''locked in'' almost the loss of my entire portfolio (nearly all the money my late grandad had left me).
I didn't and despite this week's ''carnage'' am still £357,983.31 in profit (on a total investment of £22,016)!
Has to be your decision ultimately and admittedly drops like this are scary, but in my experience with this share over 6 years now they are only temporary, and it has always eventually recovered back to new highs in the sp.
Many investors here (many of whom have far more invested and have been doing this for far longer than I) believe this to be a once in a lifetime opportunity for those prepared to be patient and wait, as do I.
Good luck whatever you decide to do
It's your decision Malcom, but all I can say to you is BE BRAVE WHEN OTHERS ARE FEARFUL then you won't go far wrong.
Hang in there. It WILL come good. The fundamentals have not changed
Thank you all. We do not need to buy a house yet. We can save £10k a year if we sacrifice. Maybe I can persuade the wife to hold on and see. Surly it cant go down any more? Might be sleeping on the sofa for some days...!
I’m not selling. Hanging on for the MRE.
“Price is what you pay. Value is what you get" W. Buffett
In other words, don’t focus on short-term swings in price, focus on the underlying value of your investment.
Without giving you advice Malco!m, just remember you do not gain or lose until you sell. No one should invest in the stock market unless they are prepared to wait for an undetermined time. Look at the fundamentals of the company via the rns,s and make a n informed choice. Not watching the short term sp movements might also help.

Malcolm, you are one of many. This board sums up the ignorance of
most traders. A week ago they talked the share up to 27 and organized
a competition . Result? Not one got it right and they are all impressing each
other with their assumed wisdom. Take it easy and forget AIM where many
investors go down the drain.
18p to sell which is the ASK
don't be fooled this is an orchestrated drop to clear out weak shares and test previous resistance at 17.7 (now support)
seen it all before, thank you got some more at 18, never thought I would get any more sub 20
im hoping this is the mother of all tree shakes as the drop just not reflect the volume reported so far. we saw something like this last week. i wonder what the fund manager is thinking that bought at 27p last week?
No Malcolm, don't invest without research and sell when you hit a predetermined target. Also don't use what you can't afford to lose. Also don't expect quick bucks. In fact I wouldn't have been risking a house deposit on any stock, safe dividend paying or risky, or growth as you never know what will happen and as you say will take years to make up again.
I may be forced to sell.Three days of heavy losses. After loosing a third of the house deposit this week. Will take my family a year of work to get back to where we were (over £10,000 lost already). Lesson learnt don't invest in the stock market.
must have rinsed out every single trader by now.
