Thank you so much for the info.I hold my shares in an ISA
Presumably any payment would go into that account?
The transaction will go through your broker. I get dividends paid through ii.
John678 hi,
That's exactly what we were after thanks very much indeed that is what I thought but did not know exactly how it was done.
Thanks very much.

Tom :-)))
1gandhi hey,
Jonno's question was :-
I just wanted to know the way in which GGP would pay shareholders IF there was a one payment of some kind .I just wondered what the mechanism is in principle for any dividend one off payment and was it via ones broker or via a company direct.
IMO meaning how do we get paid if there was an an offer made !! say do we get a say 25% in shares and a 75% cash payment !! how is the transaction made ?? that is the question.
Cheers
Tom :-)
Alex Borrelli chairman of GGP, has just done a scrip dividend on XPD. The answers your all seeking is found on a "scrip issue".
Tome 2 scenarios
1st NCM make an offer for whole of GGP & its accepted then in due course you will no longer own GGP shares as they exist no longer & the agreed price per share would arrive into your trading account as show as cash available
2nd they make an offer for Hav & its agreed then GGP get the cash in their account."If" GGP decide to offer a special dividend then again in due course the relevant amount will show up in your trading account like any other dividend
1st scenario you have cash & no GGP shares 2nd one you have a nice bit of cash & still own all your GGP shares
Hope I have made sense
TomE. There seems to be some cloudiness this Saturday morning!
I thought Jonno100 was asking how any one off payment by NCM to GGP for Havieron would be distributed to shareholders of GGP by GGP Board?
1gandhi hi,
I know what you mean but I am a little confused to say the least.
If NCM say put in an offer for say £1 billion and say I have 1 million GGP shares. How do NCM / GGP buy my shares, they can not just take them out of my account. The question is how do they do the transaction. They can not give me GGP special dividends or would they be NCM special dividends or how would they pay CASH ??????
Cheers
I would echo those queries Jonno, which appear to have been answered (thanks) but is there likely to be a qualifying period for shareholders or would it apply to anybody with shares at the time of announcement? I use Barclays and they don't seem the best at sharing company communications to shareholders, then again could just be the duff AIM companies I've chosen being crap at comms (present company excluded)!
Tig,TomE
Thank you for replying I am new to investing but have been in GGP for 3years.It was a hypothetical question.I just wanted to know the way in which GGP would pay shareholders IF there was a one payment of some kind .I just wondered what the mechanism is in principle for any dividend one off payment and was it via ones broker or via a company direct
One off payments are paid as special dividends, in the same way as any other dividend payment for any other stock.
Really hope we continue as gold explorers and use this deal as a template. Why sell now? Havieron is being fast tracked! The pace alone is quite unbelievable.
We have dozens of locations to explore yet. Dividend method sounds a great business model for GGP.
Tig Hi,
I think what he meant was. If there was a buy out of GGP say 1 billion cash for example, how are the shareholders paid. Maybe 25% extra shares and a 75% payment. How are the extra shares / cash payment get into your account ????
Any divi paid is absolutely at the discretion of the B.O.D. , as to when , and how much. Any distribution is made to the holders of the shares e.g , I have my portfolio in four different H.L. accounts, and they will receive the payments and apply them accordingly.G.H. has publicly stated that he exists to benefit GGP shareholders, and any payment for the 5% share , plus the remaining 25% share of Havieron ( probably somewhere around $$$1 billion ), will be far more than GGP needs for the continuing Licence purchases and exploration drilling . Thus a balance will be paid the existing shareholders , which, do not forget, includes GH and CB themselves. One can only surmise and hope. Nothing is ordained.
Tig
But keep smiling and hopeful, and patient. Monday may bring some enlightenment.
Good Morning
Would someone be kind enough to tell me how a one off payment is made. For example ,if Newcrest buy Havieron and GGP choose to give share holders a dividend/one off payment, how is this paid/and within what time frame .Does GGP have access to addresses of all share holders,or does GGP have access to a central data base or is it via a shareholder’s broker .I use HL.Thank You
