Speedy I come from the days when there was tax relief on residential mortgages. No gearing now.
Hope to meet you and Mush in the future. Guy
Sound like one of the good ( guys ) guy :-)
Hi Guytimb. Beware of rising interest rates. No problem if finance free but my main profits came from the leverage and very low interest payments. ATB Speedy
Speedymeadie I did a similar thing. Went for AST, which still gives a good income. Gradually giving the houses to my children
so they can build a portfolio, since I am retired. GGP has taken over the ISA and pension so no rush for quick profits.
Guy
Get the point speadie :-) :-))
Hi Doubleun. Thanks for the compliment but lucky is more like it. Never in my wildest dreams did i see monthly repayments going from £100k/mt down to £25k/mt with a steady increase in prices. If i was shrewd i would of held on longer and taken advantage of the last few years of increases in house prices. The only problem with the BTL market at the moment is the inability of good tenants to meet their obligations and trying to oust the bad ones. Investing in GGP is a walk in the park compared to the BTL market. ATB Speedy
You sound like a very shrewd guy speadie wish I could say the same about my self :-)
HiMonty. The 1980 Hunt Bros spike caught many folks out and the inexperienced buyers were caught out. Looking at a long term chart still shows a significant increase from 1970 to today. Luckily for me the Gov eased up the residential housing rental market with the introduction of AST. Sold a good chunk of my gold and expanded my rental portfolio with highly leveraged loans. 10 years ago started to offload the houses and bought back into the PMs space. As with all investment decisions it is all about research, timing and a big chunk of good old luck. ATB Speedy
Speedy, yes I know JP Morgan received a large fine for spoofing gold fairly recently and so have HSBC and Dutsche bank in the past
Some fines were for similar practises in the treasuries market and S&P and maybe some others - so to what extent its more common (if it is more common) in the precious metals markets im not sure
So yes it does happen, but I said " same as people believe gold is manipulated beyond belief yet still buy gold for some reason"
Manipulated beyond belief - ive been buying gold since 2014 and discussing it online since and there are many people in the PM community who believe precious metals are suppressed by evil central banker and governments, but theyre the same people that buy gold and tell everyone else to buy gold
Why get involved with it if you think its a totally rigged game is my point
I note youve said "Over time the manipulation does not really matter " then people dont need to complain about it constantly :p
But I will add it only since the mid 2000s and post financial crash that golds done well, if you held gold between 1980-2005 it would have been awful.. really really awful
Not to go off on another topic but there was clearly no inflation at all between 1980-2005 because gold loves inflation and
Hi Montymcgree. Just read your post 10.08. The manipulation in the gold space is not a conspiracy theory it is a hard fact proven in the courts and anyone with a brain bigger than a pea can see it on a daily basis. The manipulation in the PMs space as with all manipulated markets will eventually come to an end. Over time the manipulation does not really matter as the POG will do what it has for years and protect your wealth. The profit will come to physical gold holders when the market manipulation ends and a reset will send the price up to a level to account for the mismanagement in the financial markets. When gold reacts the effect on our SP will be considerable. ATB Speedy
Again I have had nobody comment on it. Apart from one.
The doors if you know whats going to happen everyday , sell when its high and buy back later , if your so convinced that its happening
but I despise those who try to con people out of a fantastic opportunity
———
Well said SaS - I think despise is too generous a word but good enough for the bb.
GLA genuine investors - TFG
Well said SAS - I confirm all you say is true and similar to my beliefs too!!
Should have read monty 9th October post
I literally put up what I think the market is valuing GGP at last week. Which involved an SP which is higher from here. Unfortunately that is apparently too rational and not positive enough for this place. When we had two day higher in a row, I said it was nice too see, and to keep the ramping at a minimum. Low and behold that too is not positive enough.
Not defending anybody but money 9th October looks fairly positive to me.
Is A Trol, show me one positive post you have written about GGP and maybe I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.
Monty,I think you have me confused with somebody else. I haven’t gone on about the SP being manipulated. I have gone on pointing out who I believe have nothing better to do than go into BB’s and try sow doubt by posting untruths, and I will continue to do so.
You say the this share is maybe not for me.
Have you actually read any of my posts?
If so, then what a ridiculous thing to say. I’m probably as bullish about GGP as anyone invested in it. And before you say it, I do mean Bullish not Rampest, as I have never once predicted a price that this will inevitably get to.
I wish all genuine posters on this BB very well, but I despise those who try to con people out of a fantastic opportunity of holding onto their shares, by foul means.
Spades
Talking about manipulation all the time is tiresome can we agree on that? its pointless, whether its happening or not us worrying about it wont change it
If there is some nefarious group of sellers they can only hold things so long so again, whats the point of worrying about it
Or if you believe they can hold us down forever maybe this isnt the share to be in, same as people believe gold is manipulated beyond belief yet still buy gold for some reason
All of them and a few others are in the bin SaS ;-)
this is what happened. a few were suspended or went away and those that he moaned about stayed around and continued to spread their nonsense. so now it should be mega obvious who to avoid.
will not be surprised if those that remain are scratching around for info and support. there is now a board lacking in intel, but dont worry, you can all listen to the negative support you all gained by not filtering.
i agree and expect this to build into close wednesday
The conspiracy theories around the SP are well overdone
If you like technical analysis you will know support/resistances develop, happens with everything so pointing out when prices reach a resistance level people sell.. yeah they do and yes it suppresses SP, thats not GGP specific
https://imgur.com/CdlnJTX.jpg there has been a very clear line of sellers suppressing SP until the PFS seems to have finally left it behind
The rise isn’t being ‘suppressed’ with a couple of sells, just got a couple of people selling a few while it’s up. No one ever says our recent drop is being suppressed when someone buys a few do they?
