GAW Board: Hold my Beer
:)
This is great news for GW, shareholders and fans. But I think Amazon may be making a mistake investing in production without buying/controlling GW, as a public company another player could take control of GW before any subsequent future contracts are signed.
Things could change very quickly, GLA.
For a while I reckon the bottom was yesterday after today's announcement. Maybe buy some if they ever get below £70 ! But it's likely to be the markets on a bad week that will be responsible !
This wonderful morning.
Oliver Twist is a great book, musical and film.
For some reason I can’t get that song out of my head.
GLAlth Christmas is coming
Just a few hours after he was fired from the Superman role he’s been playing for nearly a decade, Henry Cavill got a new project. The Man Of Steel star is now reportedly set to star in and executive produces a new series for Amazon based on the miniature wargame Warhammer 40000, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Probably not anyone who read and understood the RNS.
Profitable, resilient, sustainable dividend growth. That's why I'm invested and happy to hold.
Glalth
Not sure why you'd think that, given that everything announced is in line with expectations
Ok so you don’t have a figure either despite saying you have ‘actual calculations’
Ok so maybe you can stop being harsh to people considering you aren’t the rational financial guru you made out to be.
Also, what figure did you have for GAW?
Well, back in January you said “it looks like a bargain” and that was at £89 so I’m not sure where you’re coming from accusing me of being irrational.
And I would love to see your maths as I relish any chance I get to learn.
My 2p. I don't collect Warhammer but I am very much in the board game, miniatures, CCG gaming world and it's about the last thing that most people will drop when they are really into the hobby. I do think the SP has further to fall as it's still a tad inflated from the pandemic... but I'm keeping a close eye and wouldn't mind getting in here if it drops lower.
I don’t have a figure in mind I just think that general sentiment has affected all stocks and some disproportionately.
Although I understand GAW products are discretionary I still feel that there is brand loyalty (sort of like Apple) so even if profits take a hit through the (almost inevitable) recession, that GAW will 1) survive quite well owing to its low debt and 2) will recover quickly once consumer confidence returns.
As always this is all in my humble opinion and I may be talking B*llox. What are your thoughts?
Also, do you collect Warhammer?
I was just curious, do any of the posters on this forum who are invested in GAW also collect and play with any GAW products?
I was a player years ago (Had a significant Tau army and played LOTR) however haven’t been involved for many years.
So my question is, what are people’s thoughts on the current product line and rules etc? Are they still as popular as I remember?
I have also just bought into this stock for the first time since 2018 as these prices are ridiculously low IMHO.
Thank you. Agreed!
Games Workshop has no debt. It’s a cash machine. The current valuation is beyond comprehension. I think people will look back in 5 years time scratching their heads as to how this was on sale at these levels. I’ve just broken my own rules to take it above 10% of my portfolio, such is my conviction that this is completely mispriced at these levels
I’ve made a lot of money on this stock in the past but don’t currently hold any. I am thinking of taking money out of some tech stocks and moving it here at this ridiculously low SP.
The currency situation benefits the business but do we know what debts GAW have please?
Cheers
The TRUSSnami.
What on middle earth is going on. This drop is ridiculous, people just panicking for no reason.
It is the same as when papers talk of a potential recession, which causes people to worry intern leading to a recession....
Just bad timing ??
Everyone moaning about the drop in the value of the Pound and how that negatively affects importers, but no one willing to talk about how this will benefit exporters such as Games Workshop. UK media is very negative towards the UK, always has been.
It's definitely one for holding long term. I got in there around 3 years back at £30 a share...and although I kick myself for not selling out last year when it was at its peak, its not really why I invested in this company. They are a strong company with good client base (in my opinion they are loosing out not offering a 3d print option to their customers but hey, I don't know how to run a large company, I just invest). I've scored pretty well out of dividends alone so for me, long term this is a keeper....until its not :)
True, if your horizon long-term holding and reinvesting the divs, go for it! I honestly see this giving a negative return for a couple of years, and I have better places to put my money.
Once there is a green Heiken Ashi candle on the weekly I'll be buying a lot!
Whilst I agree the share price will go down, its more because of scare mongering. Its easy to say 'who will buy these little plastic men' but to the customer this is their hobby, the thing that they enjoy that keeps them sane. Do people still go out to the pub for a drink when they're jobless....yes.
People will continue to buy but larger forces are acting here. One article published saying that the 'market makers' may be dropping gaw and the share price plummets though fear, the marker makers buy more, an article is released what a great company gaw is, people buy...and the winners?!!
It's called price action and they are the support levels.
You have a mortgage? You pay your electricity and gas, food and fuel?
I tell you now people won't be buying extortionate little plastic army men when they can't pay their bills or loans off or even put bread on the table.
Also, the fad of playing 40k has got a bit long in the tooth. People are taking a break from what I see.
My opinion but this is just the start of their profit drops. Warhammer+ and warhammerTV were spectacular failures IMHO, I subbed for a year and can't believe how bad the service was. Where was astates 2?
