I mailed HL who said they can’t complete the form but we’re sending me the divi vouchers which I think are used a proof and you send with form. They said happy to send me every time a divi payment and read like standard practice for tax applying refunds
GeneralLevy
Just filled my tax form thanks
GeneralLevy
On the top it says years so more than one.
GeneralLevy
I got more than 66k in it for years div rebate will pay off
My broker said it was my responsibility to claim it back.
You can only do the application at the end of the year for the dividends collected during the year but will let you know how I get on, well worth it for a 20% rebate imo GLA
There’s a free app you need to download to open the form 86 it says which app is needed somewhere on that website
Cant get any of these forms to download, Should my broker (Fidelity) be getting this back for me as my shares are in an ISA ?
only holding a few K but the 35% (is this correct) does take a fair chunk of the divi away.
Cheers,
Matt
Processing can take up to several months. We kindly ask you to be patient considering that more than 300'000 claims have to be processed every year. Thank you for your understanding.
May I ad you can go back years I am in the money
moneybox
your right it is 35%
Dividends paid from Swiss capital companies to Swiss residents and non-residents are subject to 35% withholding tax. Shareholders resident abroad may obtain relief under the appropriate double taxation treaty. There is no federal withholding tax on royalties.
GeneralLevy
please let know how you get on with the tax rebate I will try 2.
Thanks
send me a link please
GeneralLevy
how to do it ? tax
*15% moneybox, I’m claiming mine back that much is for sure
Blood from Stone, but Money advice say: Dividends received by pension funds or received on shares within an ISA will remain tax free. So since ISA's are run by and the responsibility of provider it should be their job to claim it back
It's 35% not 20% and don't bother. The Swiss ain't giving it back.
I did have a look and downloaded the form, just that it looks a little convoluted and wanted to know if anyone else has managed to get a refund before... needs stamping at the local tax office etc etc, can’t blame the Swiss for trying to dissuade it ;) seems they only want it done at the end of the year for divis received so maybe not that much work really
Not been holding long here and collected my first divi today but think the 20% rebate is worth filling a few forms in for even if it is a pain
Onwards and upwards GLA
form86 ?
Switzerland, UK residents need to complete a Form 86. There are different forms for other nationalities. The standard Swiss withholding tax is 35% (versus 15% in the treaty with the UK), so this one is particularly worth reclaiming, but unfortunately the process has become more bureaucratic in recent years.
pokerchips
maybe I can claim back years of tax ?
pokerchips
no but I will be interested in doing just that online?
" Has anyone here ever applied for the 20% rebate from the Swiss inland revenue? "
