Logistics business Wincanton has appointed a new non-executive director with a successful career in investment banking and financial analysis.
Mihiri Jayaweera, who will take up her post from 7 April 2020, will also be appointed a member of Wincanton's audit and nomination committees.
Jayaweera was, until October 2019, group head of strategy and a member of the group executive committee of TP ICAP Group, the FTSE 250 professional intermediaries firm, operating in financial, energy and commodities markets internationally.
She was previously a consultant at Trivedi Capital, a private equity investment advisory firm based in London. Between 1993 and 2009, she held positions at Nomura International, Lehman Brothers and UBS Investment Bank.
Jayaweera said Wincanton had "a great brand and considerable potential".
"I am pleased to be part of the team taking it on to the next stage of its development," she added.
