This could re-rate on a 1MW Greek deal RNS or some other small announcement! Buy on news, sell on rumour will be the new moto...
What about one in every city !!!!
It's amazing to think that current forecasts are based on us going it alone and sub contracting EPC work. What happens when multiple EPC partnerships are signed... Imagine current uk sized project pipeline in multiple countries on multiple continents... I think you have chosen very wisely where to put your £13k. You know it, I know it, conaccord know it :)
If this is the same plant, they broke it during commissioning...
https://www.constructionenquirer.com/2020/09/29/mw-group-faces-133m-claim-over-hull-energy-plant/
I'm not so sure, the gasification business is such a small part of their business, and they haven't had any new orders for the last few years. They will be hit hard if there is a crash in metal prices (although unlikely soon). The historical price has swung up and down but hasn't trended up.
If the gasification business was separate to the mining business, and they could produce clean gas clean enough to run a gas engine then perhaps they could do well.
Their after tax and interest net profit is around 5% of their sales. Eqtec this predicted to this year andd the future make 20% profit.
If eqtec RDF to fuel tech works, there is little debt and the fundimentals blow the competition out of the water. IRR almost twice solar or wind. And look at the investments and subsidies going into those two technologies...
Andi......Outotec is maybe one to watch.....but I feel with the Wood Group review coming soon....and French waste to management specialist Idex.....chomping at the bit to invest in Billingham.....Eqtec IP leadership and near term profitability look assured....lol Reg
Is this the Hull plant here?
https://www.letsrecycle.com/news/latest-news/commissioning-energy-works-hull-sutco/
They use 240,000tonnes of RDF per year and produce 25MWe. And I'm pretty suree this is not a Co-generation plant, the only output is power, not heat.
Eqtec Billingham plant will take 200,000 tonnes per year producing the same 25MWe, but they also have 30 something MW heat on top to export. Eqtec gasifier technology is 70% more efficient than incineration. The Hull plant above in the link is a gasifier linked to a boiler, so just a clean burning incinerator.
Yess I saw mention of syngas to fuel application. The fact they are part of a multi billion company reduces the reliance on that part of the business for revenue I would guess. If they ever make a claim something like Eqtec have with Jenbacher speaking very highly of the purity of syngas and suitability for their engine then I may be interested. Oiling up and tars in the syngas are the issue no one seems to have successfully sorted out, especially for RDF. With the exception of Eqtec, we hope.
With 109 gasifiers and 40 years experience, you would think they would be a household name by now doing what Eqtec are trying to do, partner up and expand for the good of the planet.
Little or no pipeline in their waste to energy devision for the last few years to me suggests there are better solutions coming to market when clients have done their DD.
I am only going off the back of the 2017, 2019 and 2020 financial reports so far but keen to research further as they certainly have the history and they make their own gasifiers in house too.
Probably easy enough if they have a massive manufacturing setup for valves, flow systems, water purification, ore sorting, oil and gas processing equipment and whatever else they do.
Andi.....the Outotec Hull Gasification story is from last year to present.....Outotec have been designing/building boiler gasifiers for 40 years.....From reading it appears they have a BFB Gasifier capable of producing Syngas.....from which you could fuel a gas turbine to provide power.....The point is.....you have to cover all angles ie.....potential competitors.....barriers of entry etc.....before you invest.....Anyway.....I have invested a further £13k in Eqtec today.....because I cant find a better investment on AIM.....Reg
Outotec energy - state of play 2017. Gasification > boiler > steam. No biofuels or gas engines from what I can see
https://www.vivis.de/wp-content/uploads/WM7/2017_WM_367-378_Kast_Murphy
Do you have a link to some up to date info on the Hull project?
It looks like Outotec energy merged with Metso in 2018 They are involved with mining, metal recovery, oil and gas processing technology mainly. They claim to have 100 gasifiers built of different types. Waste to energy plants look thin on the ground recently - from the 2017 financial statement https://www.mogroup.com/globalassets/investors/reports/2017/ote_2017_financial_statements.pdf
a quick search for gasification, gasifier has nothing but waste to energy - "the demand for large metallurgical and waste-to-energy plants in the Metals, Energy & Water segment remained subdued"
4 Billion euros of orders in 2020 and none attributed to waste to energy from what I can see...
2.3Billion order backlog. Reminds me of Eqtec but we are 1/10th of the size with our 600m euro order pipeline. And Eqtec have much less debt comparatively. It looks like they mainly produce their power from steam boilers. So the majority of their gasifiers could be compared to clean burn incinerators producing steam. Likely haven't mastered the art of clean syngas production. Would explain the lack of orders in the last few years... That's my take from skimming the web on them anyway, what do you think Reg?
have not been able to top up - seems like there's should to be a up turn in SP, but MM's are not reporting and holding them back!
andi.....I was looking at Outotec UK Gasification projects.....namely Hull....Reg
800m Euro debt.
https://news.cision.com/metso-outotec-oyj/r/metso-outotec-s-financial-statements-review-january-1---december-31--2020,c3287454
I think gasification is only a small part of the business so hard to compare
Good afternoon....Scappy/Norfolk.....message was taken down for 10 minutes.....IMHO this must have rattled someone.....Its probable not from Eqtec.....Always pays to eye up your competitors performance.....and Outotec are it.....Reg
Not doing to badley, 537 mill cash in hand,
https://www.google.com/finance/quote/MOCORP:HEL
I agree, if they are doing badly it might drag our SP down. You know how the market perceives things sometimes.
Researching them now. 7.8billion euro market cap. More industrial/mining than RDF but they do have quite a few RDF gasifiers. Looks like they are in a pile of debt.

Reg,
I can still see your message.
Message is back Reg. Almost as though sometimes they are automatically flagged for mediation.
On a side note, would it be such a bad thing if this competitors results are positive? Given Eqtecs technology is supposedly superior, surely a positive result from them would indicate our own should be even better once running. That said, I'm not aware of the other company or their issues.
.......interesting my Metso Outotec results Friday 23/4/21 massage has been taken down.....Must have rattled someone associated with Outotec.....Hull pojects arnt going well for Outotec.....Reg
Me too, small top up.
Eqtec gasifier rival Finnish outfit Metso Outotec interim results.....for period Jan/March 2021....are out Friday 23/4/21.....We will then see what a fist they have made of their Hull Gasifier projects.....Both with 80,000 tons RDF processing capacity per annum.....potentially producing 25MW each.....Very comparable with Eqtecs Billingham project.....Lets hope Outotec have a duster with these projects.....and leave the field open to Eqtec superior tech.....A positive Wood Group revue announcement.....timed for a Eqtec AGM.....a few a days after Outotecs bad news.....would make great copy for Eqtec.....Reg
