Like FI says we should look at US as that is where we get 85% revenue and US cinemas are doing very well and no concern about cases.
The number of new infections actually fell today. What are you going on about.
The main reason infections "were" on the rise is that with the DIY tests you used to be able to walk into a Boots or Lloyds chemist etc and just pick up as many Lateral flow tests as you wished and that was the end of the matter. No control whatsoever thereafter.
However since the 4th October you now have to go online or call-up, then give all your details and you get a unique code issued to you which you need to pick up the tests up. Thereafter once you have completed the test you then have to go online or call to update the outcome. (Fact)
Don't also forget that Lateral flow tests are now replacing in some instances PCR tests and they are nowhere near as reliable, with numerous instances of false positive results.
Fortunately we have now entered the natural fire break of schools going on holidays.
Plan B mask wearing you also need to appreciate keeps cinemas fully open and last time it was compulsory to wear masks, the exemption re eating and drinking improved food and beverage concession sales by some 40%. Quite a few I've seen still wear masks of which I am one.
spoon_key, good evening to you
When I spoke about COVID becoming better, I was referring to the creation of new booster jabs that have proven to be strongly efficacious as well as the introduction of the vaccine to other age groups. This time last year we were met with an exponential rise in both infections and deaths, and that is not happening this time.
Hope that clears the message for you. You should also learn to be respectful of other’s opinions. You call the vaccine a test vaccine with insufficient safety testing, and I will not bring in my opinion on that as I do not want to inflame the atmosphere, however it is worth mentioning that people were in the clinical trials when this vaccine was still in development. My point is that it is people’s opinion and personal choice as to what they want to inject themselves with.
Take care of yourself.
Sorry forgot to add that mountainous post clearly shows that they seem to think that money is far more important than health, i.e profit before people! The full post is basically trying to ramp up Cines sp by saying everything is looking good covid wise when it clearly isnt!
"With regard to COVID, it is certainly looking more positive, booster shots are on the roll out and the CDC is looking at the mix and match of the vaccines to see the efficacy. We also know that the government cannot afford another lockdown due to the financial impact and the bad PR that it would create for the vaccines."
The covid figures dispute the post above, cases are rising NOT getting better and deaths per day are still over 100 and will only get worse as the flu season kicks in! Scientists are telling the government to act now, why?
P.S Salem grow up you stupid child!
Test vaccine my arse, it works , I've had it , I've had coving since having the vaccine and the symptoms were massively reduced. I'm 1 of millions. That's a success.
Spoon face , I suggest you learn to mind your own business.
Bonkers , what you and your family do is your business , I hope you all stay well.
sharefall I was just repeating what the Doc said so if you have issues with an actual professional saying then tell them, I didn't tell anyone NOT to have the jabs just not to have them together! I've had both jabs and get my flu one next month. Also I'm very happy you and your wife have had no issues having both jabs but that doesn't mean others aren't having serious enough issues to require going into hospital due to having both on the same day. Classic case of not happening to me so cant be happening at all syndrome!
Bonkers In no way was my post meant to cause you any upset so apologies for that, my reason for asking is because I'm still very uncertain if we should get our youngest child vaccinated.
No matter who this upsets no one can deny that this vaccine has not gone through the proper testing procedures to test for safety which is why so many are worried about doing so, no matter how much ranting you want to do this is a fact which cannot be disputed so injecting children with what in effect is a test vaccine is worrying.
Anyway I didn't mean to cause any issues here, if you think I did then thats your opinion which you are entitled to :)
Spoon, amongst the rubbish posted, I will contest the issue about having both jabs together (covid and flu). It is absolutely fine to do so and I know for a fact numerous people (me and my wife included) have had no issues at all. Please stop this dangerous chat. We are dealing with lives not money, so no room for loose talk please. ATB
KTP, very noble ..
Going to stick my oar in because the question asked to Bonkers was toned in a way that didn’t read well…..every citizen of this country is free to make their own mind up regards the vaccine, for themselves or their loved ones, take it or don’t it’s your business and know one else’s. Unless it’s a purely curious enquiry people have no business asking people to qualify their personal life choices, this really upsets me and goes against one of our core values, being self determination…..it’s worth remembering millions died for it (amongst other freedoms, most being eroded daily it seems) let’s all respect each other’s rights to choose what’s right for themselves, before we lose the right to choose our own futures entirely…..
Bonkers - fair play for sharing, all the best to you and yours.
I were thinking same ...Why waste time on some trivial post...You have more tolerance than me bonkers .
Bizarre indeed Bonkers. You didn’t need to dignify the question with an answer but good for you anyway pal.
Spoon key firstly I don't like your tone in asking me to explain why my children are getting vaccinated against covid like we have done something wrong to a public forum.
However I will try and justify it by answering you because I believe its the right thing to do , others may not , its down to them to look at risk and make a desicion as a family.
Firstly my daughter has quite bad asthma , its something we haven't discussed at length , she made the choice she wanted it , and it's a choice I'm happy she made.
Secondly a school girl died in Portsmouth very recently , she was one of my nieces best friends , so yes low risk in kids but not totally risk free.also a boy in the same year as my boy has been admitted to hospital and currently on oxygen. With luck that's all he will need and for a short period and he will make a speedy recovery.
Lastly both my kids are in secondary school right now, both caught covid from school , and I can assure you that the schools are absolute breeding grounds for this disease, its my personal belief once the numbers drop of in schools the country will be on a better position., I also think its the kids that are causing high numbers and passing it on , kids after all are not maybe as hygienic as adults with covid.
I hope this satisfys you , I also find it amazing you wish me to explain to the group why my kids are having covid due to low risk and then you go on to moan at mountainous that covid is getting worse.
Bizarre
Hi Bonkers, would you mind explaining your reasoning for getting your children vaccinated considering the figures for covid issues with children are extremely low?
Also mountanious I'm not sure why you think this:- "COVID, it is certainly looking more positive" The rates of infection coinciding with the flu season does not bode well which is why scientists are wanting some measures to come back in now, I was at the hospital on Sunday and the Doc said the pick up lately in people being admitted is not good, so who exactly do we believe?
One note on this, if you are getting either flu or covid injection DO NOT get them on the same day or week for that matter, the Doc said this is also a major cause of pick up of people going into hospital dueto the body not being able to cope with both jabs at the same time.
Thank you Bonkers and smalltrader for your comments.
I really hope that once the interest change data is realised that the markets will rise, fingers crossed smalltrader :)
Either way, this is a matter of time. Eventually we will get there.
Great post again Mountainous.
I would say inflation is priced in to the share price. We went down from 80s to 60s because of the news. Market is always forward looking. Once inflation news is out on Nov 4th, all markets will rise IMO.
If an interest rate rise is imminent, you would be better putting your money into the banks... lloyds, Barclays etc etc.
If your already in Cine, just hold and wait for the good news.
The government also said that they had a huge supply of vaccines available which is great news.
They are urging 12 to 15 year old to get vaccinated ( my daughter who is 12 gets done today, my boy will be soon as he has just recovered from covid so not eligible for few weeks.
I would imagine and hope the booster jabs will roll out quickly , 1) because its being giving to the people who have wanted the vaccine so no reason to believe they won't want the booster , and 2 because of the huge supply mentioned , will hopefully lead to positive news.
Nice one mountainous, not only for the new thread but also putting up some info that doesn't start with woooooooooooooooo 9234% rise end of week
Just seen in the news that the Bank of England could increase interest rates as soon as next month. I see this as a positive as the sooner we can increase them, the sooner we can get inflation back under control and the sooner we can see the market sentiment begin to rise again. The governor for the Bank of England said the we NEED to act on inflation, so its a matter of when not if. I believe they have a vote on the 4th November to decide that.
With regard to COVID, it is certainly looking more positive, booster shots are on the roll out and the CDC is looking at the mix and match of the vaccines to see the efficacy. We also know that the government cannot afford another lockdown due to the financial impact and the bad PR that it would create for the vaccines.
All in all, I see CINE ending the year on a positive. If we can get the court case out of the way, a trading update too and if we can get the markets back in normal working order I reckon that we will all see the green on our investments by the end of the year :)
