The Dow has gone up nearly 1000 points in the past 2 days. The ftse as usual lags behind and BT is down. It's getting to the point that I will cut this one loose even though I see the revenues rising substantially with their inflation plus 3.9% rises in tariff charges for customers on their mobile amd broadband tariffs. In fact getting to the point of getting out of the UK market full stop.
There is serious competition gathering pace with foreign finance, and BT could lose Sky as a customer..
To who exactly? No one has a sufficiently big enough network to take their customers and lest ye forget TV is SKYs USP, not broadband. Why would Sky take their customers and feed them via their biggest TV rivals network? Comcast didn’t get successful by helping their rivals get a commercial advantage. The deal with OR/BT project equinox will soon be signed and this trash talk of using Virgins network will be consigned to the bin, from where they were dragged from 2 years ago by the Times.
nuri123a, Doesn't mean Drahi is right though. There is serious competition gathering pace with foreign finance, and BT could lose Sky as a customer. There is also still the Pension deficit.....Billionnaires make mistakes also !!
Good finish overall. Always keep in mind Drahi - he saw something valuable in BT at £2.85ish.... he's still very much in the background!!!!
Buy spike to end the day strange!
In case anyone hasn't read this and wants to catch up on the quarter ......
BT Group Investor Relations Bulletin - News and events during Q2 FY22

Sadly nothing warrants an RNS except possible BT Sport sale - We can just hope.
I can easily see it going below £1.35 before any RNS comes out.
"Buyers are being swamped by sellers and every now and again - Buyers walk away to see what lower price they can get BT shares at - all understandable - why buy today when you can get them cheaper next week"
In Level 2 the number of Buy trades lined up is significatly lower than those lined up to Sell
Going to take significant sustained buying to turn this ship around
"Fleccy, do you think that the market is trying to make BT look more attractive to a predator by manipulating the share price down to ridiculous levels?"
Not a clue, anyone's guess. The likes of GS and Morgan Stanley probably know exactly what is going on, but we're left in the dark. The low pricing of Telecom stocks makes no sense to me, so I view it as an opportunity rather than a negative.
Bitcoin's trading around $60,000 this morning, imagine what it'll be like when that one goes pop lol.
Fleccy, do you think that the market is trying to make BT look more attractive to a predator by manipulating the share price down to ridiculous levels?
"Will he already have options lined up to increase his holding further come December?"
Drahi's surprise announcement of purchasing over 12% of BT, without any previous hint in the press, suggests that anything's possible if you're a big enough player.
"why buy today when you can get them cheaper next week"
Indeed, I will be topping up again should the price drop as low as November last year. The price doesn't affect my confidence in the company, and should it start pushing toward £1 territory again, I will add lots more.
Drahi may well be rubbing his hands at this fall in the BT share price, was this part of his plan? Yes he is currently sat on a large paper loss having purchased his 12.1% at 181p. Will he already have options lined up to increase his holding further come December? I must admit that I'm surprised to see the share price down at 139p considering the market knows that BT have a multi billionaire sniffing around. Will the share price head up to 200p plus again if he tops up his holding further come December?
From what I see
Buyers are being swamped by sellers and every now and again - Buyers walk away to see what lower price they can get BT shares at - all understandable - why buy today when you can get them cheaper next week
Just got in from the Gym and i'm surprised to see a drop off from 14:30, coinciding with the U.S. markets opening. BT is no longer listed in the US, what happened?
Very low volume also at less than 6m at this time of day - no doubt UT will be main determinant AGAIN
Depth of buys falls off whilst Sells stay fairly constant thus driving price down
Noticed a definite positive trend in SP in mornings then it appears by mid afternoon it falls off, v strange, hopefully some good news soon on BTSport.
