Thanks re covid loan news. I thought they had taken one. It's starting to look good for re-entry into the ftse 100. Very pleased with market reaction. Above my expectations
I am not sure companies can issue dividends if they have taken a covid loan. Didn't M and S take out a covid loan?
Wednesday the 10th for half year results
Neil. Nice to hear from someone else re the Hedge End store. The food section is beautifully designed and laid out. Especially the fresh bakery, hot food/ deli. I told the girl who served me to ask the manager to turn down the heating. As you say busy especially at weekends. Huge car park and pretty full every time i visit. Hopefully they can get their debt back to investment grade and a dividend would be good next year. I think they will have a great xmas. I have been browsing their xmas food catalogue and it's full of delicious looking food.
Not what i am seeing in the Hedge End store. Plenty of people including me are buying clothes. The telegraph yesterday evening had a jumper from m and s for men in their "must haves". I liked the green jumper but not the material as i like natural fabrics. Their merino wool jumpers with a zip are great. I have bought 3 in different colours. As for their new collection food staples they are very good. You can choose a honey from a particular bee keeper. Very good so far. I personally think m and s are doing very well. Just wish they would turn the heating down in the shops not just to save energy costs.
They have hired George Osbornes company to defend it against possible bid from Altice
The Dow has gone up nearly 1000 points in the past 2 days. The ftse as usual lags behind and BT is down. It's getting to the point that I will cut this one loose even though I see the revenues rising substantially with their inflation plus 3.9% rises in tariff charges for customers on their mobile amd broadband tariffs. In fact getting to the point of getting out of the UK market full stop.
Maybe do some research yourself by visiting the local M&S. As i stated at the weekend. Hedge End branch was very very busy. There are plenty of people earning good money with increased savings over past 18 months. Their LED xmas gin bottles seemed popular as few left and saw a few in peoples baskets/trolleys. Car park packed and its a very large car park. All clothing tills manned and queues waiting to pay for their clothes. I did mention to girl at till the shop was very hot. They could turn the temperature down a bit and save some energy costs.
Half year results on Wednesday 10th November. I went to Hedge End store today. Spent more than i was planning on especially in the food section. Walked past the mens clothing and picked up a couple of jumpers, a couple of shirts, socks and a pair of trousers. The jumpers £39.50 each and seem good quality. I wish now i had bought a couple of extra fine merino wool jumpers as well so may go back next weekend. All the clothing tills open and quite a queue. I noticed people were buying lots of clothes especially jumpers, coats, trousers, shoes and boots. When it came to my turn to be served i noticed the queue behind was even longer than when i joined. Cafe was very busy as was the food section. In instore hot food and bakery were very busy and hardly any sandwiches to choose from. Car park packed. I feel reassured M&S is doing very well BUT the Hedge End store is very smart, especially the food section. Very stylish in fact.
Bt's mobile and broadband revenue will substantially increase next year with cpi plus 3.9% tariff increases.
Thanks Neil. That is what i thought last night when i was reading it.
You will have to search on marks and Spencer website as i can't add the link. I am new to this. All i see whenever i go to local marks and Spencer is the cafe full, queues at food tills and plenty of people buying clothes and picking up online orders. I know personally i spend a lot more these days in m and s, especially food.
