Saurus,
Thanks again for your kind words. Definitely better today, almost back to 100%.
I have traded this stock many, many times since 2002 and are glad to say have made more returns than losses. I suspect from memory, good returns 80% of the time and stop losses activated roughly 20% of the time. I see that as a good result especially as it has paid for some wonderful holidays and cruises that I simply could not have justified with “earned” money.
Genuinely glad to hear you have been making money on the markets... long may it continue.
Good Luck my friend.
All IMHO please MYOC.
Wondered if you were unwell as you hadn't posted in a while. Glad to hear you're now on the mend and hope you recover fully asap.
Fabulous rise yesterday .... ended up selling 50,000 of my recent investment. Got back into this share on 3rd August and have been trading it's range since. View it as a yo yo share and watch it's price movements closely. Have traded the range using volume on and off since 2008. More recently, did some trading in August and then day trading on 16th Sept. Got back in again on 17th and 18th Sept and purchased 155,946 shares at just under 89 - 100.84. Because of it's present volatility, I choose to take profit when it's a reasonable amount rather than wait and hope for a 15 - 20p rise. That said, if the price was to fall further say by 20p, I would just wait it out. Have now got 55,946 shares remaining which I'll sell when they show collective profit.
All the best with your investing,
saurus
Hi karv1, I absolutely respect the opposite point of view especially when there is a simple explanation of why you believe in what you do. No arguments from me, I believe that these will remain a good recovery play and even at these levels, if you have the true investment patience to wait, then I would not be surprised to see at least a 50% return. The question is how long before the seeds start to flower... if only any of us truly knew. Good Luck my friend!
All IMHO please MYOC.
Hi, MrAlt I also like your views tho I do not always agree.
I have bet heavily on BARC my total funds' profit line is around 72p below this and it starts to get painful but I am still confident of my 150+ target in time and my 112 to regain my lost profits.
I guess where you are heavily invested you have to be positive or there no point in holding and you should sell and find something else.
When I look at the fundamentals I see a really good future I don,t think there are many that will beat BARC at the moment for long-term returns.
Where barc is beaten is returns now and short term.
Everyday week month that passes we get nearer the turning point of the financial tide.
Kingrav and Saurus many thanks Both for your kind words.
I have literally been in bed all week, finally circulating this morning. Still only around 80% better after suffering with a strange bug and symptoms ... Thankfully not Covid. Every time I stood up, I would feel dizzy and sick. One hell of away to lose weight. I’ll call it the Weetabix and Soup diet.
Anyway after a debate last Sunday evening with her indoors, wrongly or rightly, 50% -£10k was auto-sold via a Stop Loss with a £1k loss... ouch. The other 50%-£10k now “invested” (rather than gambled) longer term unless Q3 Results show an uplift to make a return back over £1.03, which at this moment in time looks unlikely. The theory being that “If house prices fall by 10% would you sell your house?” I was also reminded “What is the point of having a mind if you are not prepared to change it?”
The next 12 months will prove whether my half and half approach proved to be highly lucky or highly foolish?
I have been repeating myself for months now that I have been looking to buy at a discount circa 85p... I really should listen.
I will sniff around the media links tomorrow and post what I find to cover the last 7 days, albeit a week in the Stock Market is a hell of a long time. Hence, I will use my artistic license to decide on what I post be it negative, positive or otherwise.
Hope you are both well and luck is on your side?
All IMHO please MYOC.
Wish to second kingrav's thoughtful post. Over the past few months, you've helped to shape this board with positivity including research, analysis and honesty and, you've played a major part in creating a friendly atmosphere Mr Alt. Apologies for not replying to your earlier post but it's been a hectic week.
All the best,
saurus
i know you had your stop loss around 92p.
You've been very supportive, and hope you're ok.
Taking a 10% hit within a week, must be hard to swallow.
