Haha, sounds like a plan Entangled. Look forward to it.
Gr33, in the “spirit” of not clogging the board let us exchange notes on a Saturday pm ... in Radford’s bar perhaps? Can’t wait for normality to return. Got to be honest though mine is a Butty!
Apologies for typos.... fat fingers
Hiw do you know him Entangles. Are you from little H?
Yes I do. We work in the same dept
Gr33, do you know Edgar?
Possibly 1 and possibly 3, and if it involved company money then possibly 4, under some kind of investigation.
What if...... I was a cidermaker ( no brand names mentioned.... cough..... Strongbow) and I got completely wasted on it in the sun. I then proceeded to pile a lot of cider tokens on awacta. Would that make me
1 irresponsible
2 smug
3 quite well off in the not too distant future and getting more of the apple juice in me in the knowledge that I'm a smug, irresponsible, soon to be wealthy cidermaker?

What if Avacta put out a gargantuan rns tnite at 730pm
So I can get even more wasted than I am now!!
Hi PL75,
Thank you, that’swhy I did qualify it with ‘say 14 days’ as like you correctly say we have no ideas.
Anyways just found this in The Sun... all good for antigen testing once peeps wake up!
The immunity catch
In the meantime, there is one big catch behind any antibody test - no matter how accurate.
"These tests tell you one thing - that you’ve survived a Covid-19 infection," says Dr Bharat Pankhania, an expert in infectious diseases who has advised on previous SARS and Ebola pandemics.
"What it cannot tell you is how long this is going to remain valid for."
Currently, there is no evidence to suggest the presence of antibodies guarantees full and long-lasting immunity from a future reinfection.
They could be effective for years - equally, they might only work for six months.
It has led the WHO to warn against ideas like ‘immunity passports’, which could allow people different levels of freedom depending on whether they have had the virus.
"Just because you have antibodies doesn’t mean you’re not able to get infected or infect others," adds Dr Pankhania.
"So my advice has always been to exercise infection control measures to a) protect your self and b) protect others.
"If anything, I want to save the businesses money by saying by having these tests, could you actually be creating more cases if that means you then drop your guard?"
Reference The Sun. and before you all start taking the pss I am not a reader, but research is research! Lol!

Trek
You’ve been on excellent form Trek, but the 14 day idea is a non-starter on a par with immunity passports. You can easily develop symptoms within 14 days, the point of the antigen test is to see if you have it and could be contagious right now, it says nothing about tomorrow
See my earlier post.
You test before you book and then retest within 14days. Once they get the 2nd generation LFD’s out they imo will be essential and that will happen. Only then will the technology truly enable the world to operate. I’m actually starting to look beyond this first test equipment. You got to else someone else will come along with something better. That is a business fact.

There needs to be sensible insurance clauses or possibly the govt mandate the tests and then covers it. People shouldn’t be penalised for doing the right thing. If they become mandatory then something would need to be in place. At the minute the official advice remains not to travel, for that to change this kind of scenario definitely needs to be considered.
Your scenario was brutal though, there was no need to twist the knife by the positive result being a false positive.
Let’s get the test done first and then let others worry about what needs to be implemented
If it’s positive you would probably retake the test to double check, small price to pay to save infecting the rest of the passengers. Better to be safe than sorry there may be some sort of intermediate insurance to offset the loss who knows
A lot of things are going to change, up to the point this virus is controlled or eradicated
say a family, your family all booked to go to ,say Australia
get to checkin at airport
all take test
one fails ,positive ,false positive lets say
you cant fly , whole family cant fly
you pay the financial consequences of no holiday x however members of family
