PL75,
Agree it’s not Avacta.
The Abbott test requires the kit from BioSensor plus the cost of a trained medical person ,it’s not like for like to a self administered LFT, the Innova test is Swob with LFT and the disclosed contract value appears to be £15 per test plus the cost of the trained medic.
The price of our test will be close to £5 - i'm pretty sure of it. Even £1-2 profit a test would be transformative for us...
It's what the Abbott and Roche tests cost... We probably won't find out how much the government pay.
Spot on EGTP
It would have to be subsidised - £10 isn’t affordable to the masses anyway and also no need for it to be that price when billions are Eventually been produced under licence.
But either way as I previously commented months ago (post removed) our government is guaranteed to cover the entire cost of this program for at least 6 to 12 months because 1. they can’t afford not too (350 billion spent because of covid so far) 2. people that need to test most the young / vunerable / HMO / students / jobless / care homes ect will not pay for something they feel they don’t need - law or no law.
We have the test
Mass Production is key for pricing- fingers crossed
It’s closer to a fiver
So poorer areas /countries can afford multiple testing
Have a good weekend
It isn’t us.
Sir Al has previously said an LFD will cost $25, $15 in bulk, so around a tenner.
Family of four £100 how many times will mr n mrs get tested through a year not Many
It defeats the object
Cheap regular testing is the way forward
Have a good weekend
Alistair Smith, Avacta’s chief executive, said the price of the test would probably be similar to a commercial HIV test, which cost about $30 (£25), but would be lower if health organisations or businesses bought it in bulk. The company said it had had inquiries from firms that wanted to test staff to ensure they are healthy before they return to work.
Pricing is not up to us. That is what Avacata have said about the price range of £25 before
Pl So it could be us then
£25 is to expensive needs to be priced at same price as a pregnancy test
So people are not put off by price and don’t bother testing themselves
I’m not interested in that article, it’s not about our test. I’ll patiently wait to be updated by Awacta in an RNS rather than gormlessly speculate that any and every mention of an LFD is any form of media is us.
Pl the article says available before Christmas
So when do you think ours will be ready ?
*20 min test i meant
£5 is perfectly pitched imho
avcts 10 mi test is around £25 as clearly stated in the summer
Margins and land being taken by every man and his dog with more and more tests while Sir Al sips his Yorkshire tea. Q2 2021 will be too late and feel curtains for any Avacta tests.
NDA is a red herring to hide behind curtains. No one else is hiding behind any NDA.
Obviously the CEO would not have sold any if there was a test coming in November. I'd say Jan Feb is nailed on for the test to go for mass market (as long as it is approved)
Marvellous, so everyone is agreed the Sun article isnt is. Who cares about the margin of someone else’s test then.
We have a test
But it’s not ready yet and 100% it works - churning it out to the masses is the biggest problem
Which is what they are working on now
This is the game changer
Life will get some normality
Where is it then watching2?
Q48: Would you provide an update to the market post completion of technical transfer?
Yes, when technical transfer is completed and the production of pilot batches has started we will update the market that we have hit this important milestone.
Clearly I should read what I write before hitting post.
fiver is a nice rhyme with saliva.
£5 was made up by a copy writer as saliva is a nice rhyme with saliva.
The Innova test comes out at about £7, which is close enough.
And that is £7 to government, not to the end user.
Hhhmmm we have
We haven’t got a test yet. It’s pretty straight forward
Pl75 why?
