Understood Pedrol I just wonder how you establish who is genuine on an anonymous chat facility
I prefer all views as well providing they are constructive and genuine. What I don't like is wind up merchants and shorters who are manipulative. I notice a lot of these posters say they are invested thinking that gives extra gravitas to their posts.
Is this just a board for positive outlook? No!
We had RK on here the other day saying if we're invested then we should be positive. Yes agreed BUT we should have all views. If you don't like someone or their views, use the filter.
No uneccessary long or well written solely positive views from me demanding 75+ likes. If you're one of the many to be invested here from May onwards, I'm guessing you're showing a paper loss like me. I prefer all views, even MOFOfreeman's
I think you might be being a little too down on Avacta, it's true that they have made a number of mistakes recently, most notably not being forthright about delays and being overly positive in RNS language. AS share sale was ill-advised and exposed the company to unnecessary governance questions (which really should not have occurred).
However, the fund raise was very sensible and, I think, the price was correct, as it accounted for some uplift from covid but didn't over extend that risk. Biotech firms are notoriously difficult to grow and a massive cash injection is very welcome, and will see this company through quite a long time without needing to raise new funds.
It sounds like there's been a lot of good tech development in the last 6 months and hopefully that will translate to a saleable product(s). It would be good to have much more clarity around this, but I wouldn't be too disheartened about it. Even without covid products I think the current price will move upwards by this time next year.
The testing window is very big and will remain open a long time. It will all unfold well soon.
Vegas don't worry about my investment, I am entitled to share an opinion aren't I, even if it isn't the same as yours?. As for Cest la vie, just grow up! Good debate and different views are part of our democracy, personal attacks don't really add to the debate..GLA..
Agree moniman. Been had a few times on aim. Knew time lines shouldn’t be thought of as set in stone but didn’t think frosts would arrive quicker than the end of summer estimate. We are clinging onto the idea that maybe rolls royces take a bit longer to develop. Still holding . There is a point sometimes that things turn out good well after being exasperated. Been there too on aim
Moniman, why stick with the punt? You seem to think Avacta will fail, or is it just a couple of quid you invested?
The market reaction and dramatic SP fall says it all, you don't sell nearly £50million at an already huge discount to the underlying SP to new Investors with big promises and fail to hit expected deadlines. You can fool investors initially but as with the recent developments and news flow the market isn't impressed with results to date, hence massive retrace in SP...if three companies can achieve the far more complex task of rolling out a new vaccine in unbelievable time frame and others producing their own tests even quicker, you'd have to conclude that something has gone wrong..but poor communication just adds to the uncertainty for Avacta..like I said, I'll stick with my punt, but the window is closing in for Avacta to deliver something on Covid testing before the market vanishes or goes to others...Aimho Adyor!!!
Moniman extract from the £45m fund raise rns,. Where are the undelivered promises?
Pursuant to the Fundraising, the Company proposes to raise up to £45 million (before expenses) to fund the rapid scale-up of the broader Affimer® diagnostic products opportunities including COVID-19 antigen rapid testing and accelerated expansion of the in-house Affimer® and pre|CISION™ cancer therapy pipeline
I agree, the BOD have consistently over promised and under delivered...raising the £50 million on the back of undelivered promises was very sharp practice and selling£500k worth of shares knowing the status of tests was very questionable...all together pretty poor show from the BOD...all being said, I'll stick with my punt but this company is showing all the signs of a typical AIM cowboy outfit...GLA you're going to need it..AIMHO if you don't like it well tough, free speech is still permitted in the UK at present, unlike China...
