"and, for the present, ANGS is still on schedule to benefit from next Winter's gas tariffs."
Ocelot - those on here who know about these things reckon that it will take at least 6 months from the arrival of financing for any of the main kit to turn up. It then has to installed and tested - and it's not like plugging in a new Dyson vacume cleaner. A really good outfit might be making money by January 2022 from here - but we all know what sort of outfit ANGS are.
we have missed two winters!!! and there is no guarantee for the third considering past performance.
... and, for the present, ANGS is still on schedule to benefit from next Winter's gas tariffs.
"imminently" no doubt...... :((((((
Once the debt facility is obtained, one may find that the delays involved in concluding it are quickly forgotten.
Hopefully, we shall find out quite soon!
"Reconnecting a previously producing gas resource at current wholesale prices will make money. (very different to wild catting in Turkey with SS at the helm over at UDOG). "
In terms of risk you are correct - the problem at ANGS has always been execution - and the shambles of the "imminent" funding is just another to add to a long line of failures to do what they said they'd do
Agree Sageman.
Have always considered anything around 2p to 2.5p a reasonable target for SF, but would seriously consider taking 1.5p to exit level here now with the funding issue dragging on. And on.
I think many are resigned to being disappointed compared to earlier expectations given the past 2-3 months of delay and lack of clarity as to what is really going on
2 weeks with no more news on this and I will likely sell my non-ISA position regardless.
Come on GL, the clock has been ticking for far too long and you need to restore some credibility with your shareholders.
gla
Mirasol, I haven't given up on this share. Reconnecting a previously producing gas resource at current wholesale prices will make money. (very different to wild catting in Turkey with SS at the helm over at UDOG). What I have given up on is the previous SP potential. I am now just hoping for 2-5p so that I can take my cash and run as I did at 88e. It is only a small part of my portfolio but it would be good to escape in profit. I suspect many other PI's feel the same.
I think everyone has just given up on this share...............
And you think UKOG's announcement that it's interested all of a sudden and out of nowhere in geothermal on the back of announcing its latest set of annual results (afer hours... and at an eye-popping £21 million pre-tax loss) is some sort of credibility-building thing??? Get real - Stout Steve has simply taken a leaf of of George's "frantic attempts at misdirection" playbook.
Let me charitably translate that UKOG quote you pasted that into real and truthful English.
"In desperation, we are increasingly active in trying to distract angry investors with our latest pixie dust fairytale, namely geothermal, where we possess the key spin and PR skills necessary to fool more naive PIs out of further funding to pay our fat salaries a bit longer. As well as new unrealisable geothermal projects, in the event of people seeing through that load of old cobblers, we'll then pretend that our oil wells that scarcely produce more than a dribble can be repurposed to simultaneously support geothermal. Along with George at ANGS, we are a founder member of the Hans Christian Andersen Appreciation Society."
UKOG released its 19/20 results after hours.
They are studying geothermal opportunities, too:
As a diversification, we are increasingly active in the newly emerging geothermal energy field, where we possess the key subsurface and engineering skills necessary to make such projects work. As well as new standalone geothermal projects, we are currently investigating the viability of hybrid energy sites envisaged to derive power from both petroleum and geothermal. We are a founder member of the newly formed Geothermal Energy Advancement Association.
