Over the last couple of weeks have been trying to get a better idea of how long we will have to wait for the Dewatering Permit decision. I have been in direct contact with the NRW water quality permitting team who are dealing with Alba application. I was being told that "The Water Quality Permitting team is currently experiencing a high demand for our services. Unfortunately, this will increase the time before water quality applications can be assessed for completeness, and if adequate, duly-made ready for technical determination and consultation, as necessary. The current estimate is a delay of approximately 14 weeks"
this to me was a general statement that did not answer my specific questions about Alba's application.
I have now received another e mail from them, the two main questions I wanted answers to were.
1.Alba have mentioned that NRW may fast track their application due to the circumstances of their application, is that the case.
2. Will that 14 week time frame really mean a decision will not be forthcoming until after the full 14 weeks, or can Alba expect a decision sooner.
They have told me that they can not fast track any applications, and that the 14 week delay on applications dose stand and it may take up to 14 weeks before they can even assess this application and then make it duly made, and then once it is duly made it could take a further 4 months to complete.
I do know that they can not tell me everything and I am just going to leave it now, and the application decision will come when it comes. I guess I am not expecting the RNS to drop anytime soon, but lets hope it comes faster than the time frames they are giving me. I would like to think it will.
If you want me to post the e mail they sent me in its entirety let me know and I will do that.

Thank you for this, scotalba.
Nothing to be done, just a question of waiting for the wheels to turn.
Cheers Scot, it’s been over 4 weeks now & this next month of Xmas shenanigans will go quickly so Jan will be here before we know it - let’s hope it’s quicker than anticipated eh…. GLA
Agree Ocelot-Robbie,
Just got to wait it out. I was wanting NRW to tell me, as it was a re- submission and due to the circumstances of its last refusal, it would be processed alot quicker than the standard new applications. However they have not told me that. If it is the case that it will fast tracked they may well not share that information with me anyway. So lets hope they are keeping things close to their chests and Alba application won't take as long as others.
I’m pretty sure George once said it would indeed be fast-tracked but George does has a tendency to be optimistic…. GLA
Can someone in the no who has a idea whats left on the lease of wales and will we be in danger off not mining because of permits takeing so long
As suspected scotalba thanks for the update! Any fast track is likely to come once duly made as we are stuck waiting for pre assessment! That is also IF that is even possible I always go by worse case and set my expectations accordingly..
Here you can find a list of the mine licence dates 2025 is the main one for alba. Previous extensions mentioned they must move to production by that date as no further renewal would be possible however that could be up for debate. https://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/media/3914/summary-agreements-terrestrial-minerals.pdf
Meanwhile, some thought should be given to the Bod who must also wait patiently: frustrating though it may be, at least their salaries will help warm their homes.

Clogau St Davids and most of the gold belt https://www.lse.co.uk/rns/ALBA/licence-extension-over-clogau-st-davids-gold-mine-yx5fc9ftxhru0p6.html until 09/02/2025 "The Exploration Licence has now been extended for a further four years, being the maximum extension possible under the terms of the original licence. As such, the Exploration Licence will now remain in full force and effect until 9 February 2025"
Gwynfynydd http://www.rns-pdf.londonstockexchange.com/rns/9479F_1-2020-11-19.pdf ranted 20/11/2020 for 6 years extendable by 4 years so 20/11/2026 -> 20/11/2030
It could be the case that a new exploration option could be granted on or before 9th feb 2025, unless a formal exploitation lease has already been put in place. However, it is also possible that it expires and another party obtains a fresh option.
@Lee 1978
There exists quite a lot of borehole data in the public domain at Gwynfynydd, so despite the land access issues then it would be possible to create a reasonable working 3d model of the stratigraphy

So do people believe it will indeed be fast tracked? Alba themselves don’t have any idea of timelines and are “beholden” to NRW…. Fingers crossed eh!
They have said they have had senior personnel nrw visit. I’d rather believe alba in an rns than anyone else.
#nookie I missed the post I think it was deleted what's gone on!
