Daz - it may be they will accelerate the delivery of the 400+ as that is planned for June 2021. 160 is June so I’m not sure how much faster that could be delivered but they may be able to cut a month off it with some additional resource, perhaps a delaying AlkaMem in the process.
Daz, I suspect the plan was to start making and selling the smaller units to build up revenue to avoid more dilution and these would be cheaper and quicker to manufacture. It could also be a space issue?? Where will we be putting these 40ft containers together?? Until we get the funds to move or out source etc...
AFC have been talking with clients and now know there is a customer wanting the larger units and possibly this is a big customer so AFC are focusing on them. I think Adam is doing his best to please shareholders by trying to build revenue slowly rather than diluting us more.
These large organizations are not going to sign contracts with out a trial first so that's what I think this is.
I'm hoping it's a retailer like Tesco.
This is all just my opinion ofcourse.
All the RNS says is-
. These discussions have confirmed interest in our technology and ratified our strategy to introduce 160kW and 480kW units at the earliest opportunities.
So if they didn’t receive the £1m what was the plan, to not introduce them at the earliest opportunity ?
Bumble, I’d like to know how the £1m raised will speed up the development, I.e what exactly will the money be spent on ? I correctly assumed another raise in January, not difficult to calculate from the last accounts, if the £1m is not needed to cover monthly running costs how are the day to day costs (approx £400k per month) being covered ?
It does not use the term fast track Daz. It does say it has ratified AFCs decision to introduce the 160 kW unit as fast as possible. Does that mean they have speeded up the process, or was the proposed introduction the earliest date they could achieve.
Where does it say AFC will fast track them ?
Makes a lot of sense to me.
"...the Company has commenced conversations with several prospective customers, including fleet operators, Councils and retailers."
So it's pretty obvious that some of the buyers have told AFC they WANT or NEED the bigger units, and AFC have responded by saying they will fast-track those bigger units.
Bumble yes, I know it all breaks down to the 10kW fuel cell stacks. What I meant was a stack of 16 fuel cells, it’s probably easier to design the rig with all the subframe, electronics, pipe work etc, replicate and multiply as required.
Thanks for the responses!! I couldn't recall having seen that figure before and yes I can count thank you lol.
Thank you bumble for a sensible response.
There is also a slight confusion about the word stack. The 160 kW system contains 16 stacks.
If power output does not improve the 480 kW system will have 48 stacks.
Slide 21 of the product launch presentation in December referred to a 480 kW unit being available by 2021, so no change on the size of that system. The High Power cells are due for commercial launch in 2022, slide 7 of the same document.
Hi Lucky, I would be inclined to agree with Mitch on this. I think the single unit 400Kw+ stacks are to come along with the solid state fuel cells, which are 2021.
Gadams
They are probably designing/designed the 160kW stack and then up scaling using multiples of that stack.
480kW is just 3 lots of 160kW
Good morning all, having read all the comments this morning as well as reading the rns a few times.... I then read the website again and I think this is the start of a commercial deal and I will explain why.
Unless someone here can correct me as I may be wrong but I have never seen the mention of a 480kw unit! On the website it's 400+. I believe the 160kw unit is likely to be produced for the motor show in August, seeing as we are the main EV charger partner, we will likely have a few units there demonstrating the tech as well as keeping the EV cars charged. Now!..... I've never heard of the 480kw unit so I'm thinking this is an order? Has anyone heard of this specified unit or is this the size of a unit somebody wants????
I'm speculating but happy for any views on this.
Thanks lucky
