Golden, had a few of those from tesco. The 1L deal is particularly good.
In the absence of Bunnahabhain, (number one in my book) Tamnavulin is a sherry cask finished malt from the Spey valley, available at Tesco currently 30quid, down from 45 for a litre bottle. Bargain!
I look no further than Morrison's own brand. £5 a litre in Gib
All tastes the same
Not for retail, that's for sure. Found some in Waitrose. Will have to pay them a visit. Not too many now Islandgirl! ;-)
3.50 for a dram35ml...nae say bad eh!
You lucky lassie! It seems to have disappeared off Morrisons site. Shame. Might have to pay full whack for some if/when I can find some. Enjoy!
On the ferry to Mull and the malt of the month at the bar is guess what?
Cheers Cat. Crikey, spoilt for choice there.......if only they'd compete with Morrisons on price! Mind you, it's one thing for Morrisons to advertise it at £26 or £28 (can't remember) but only a bargain if they actually sold it!! When/if 88e comes good, perhaps I'll splash out on the 1988 one! :-))

11:32 I looked at VRS which I think was at 18%, the issue was also that we are listed on ASX & chi-X which introduced timing issues even if Primary Bid could have worked over two markets- I don't know for sure.
The VRS was a very quick torn round based on a mid day price, no VWAP but if VRS could do no better than 18% ...
Ultimately as you say the discount will depend on how easy it is to get offer done.
After the previous under subscribed placement last year it is not hard to imagine that DW was not in the strongest of negotiating positions and a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
09.26 brom - "08:45 not sure that DW would discount over what he had to, seem to recall others here pushing an alternative fund raising scheme - when I checked discount was actually bigger :-( "
I believe you checked in regard to AST which was indeed a 20% discount through Primary Bid. In terms of 88e the closing price on 21 January was 1.375p and the offer was at 1.10p, again a 20% discount.
However Primary Bid have conducted a total of 51 placings - and for instance that of SDI group was only a 10% discount (SP 36.75p, placing 34p). So the terms do vary according to perceived ability to get the placing away.
What we don't know is why DW, having received an unsolicited approach for investment at a premium to the most recent placement in September 2019 (achieved at 0.7p), was not able to pursue this at a higher price than 1.1p. There may well have been other factors at play - eg the incremental increase in the well costs being higher than originally budgeted for and we know there was a shortfall of the sums raised in September 2019. But DW seems very reluctant to ask PIs for money at the moment, preferring instead to tap IIs.
A few other placings to PIs I have seen have stratified the placing price eg DW could have set the prices at say 1.1, 1.15, 1.2 and in effect requested investors to bid at the price they wanted though taking pot luck that they might miss out if bidding too low.
The most recent placing was only looking for around £2.6m so it's very doubtful there would have been a shortfall from PIs (when added to the unknown amount the unsolicited approach would have secured) through Primary Bid or any other method. Perhaps DW was looking for speed of transaction though PB is very quick.
All history now so will keep quiet on this subject!
10:02 :-))
Sorry! 4,500 posts and all one liners!
Jiddy 10:22, come on fella! She did alert me to the niceties of Bunnahabhain, even if I've not managed to find any yet!
Yet another poster with no skin in the game!
Yeh!, you posting something worthwhile, that would be completely bizarre islandgirl.
9:29 i think that's where the 69 came in...It was really the reverse LOL
"already has one strike against him"
In what form was that "strike" then?
Wall has upset a lot of shareholders, and already has one strike against him, given by the said upset shareholders.
Eg 08:45
Such a pity that you speak about DW with such disdain.
He speaks really highly of you.
Easy to batter someone from a keyboard. Tell him to his face next time you meet him.
keefy
Disdain: the feeling that someone or something is unworthy of one's consideration or respect.
08:48 I seemed to recall he claimed a telephone conversation with DW also!
Hardly robbing the rich to feed the poor :-)
08:45 not sure that DW would discount over what he had to, seem to recall others here pushing an alternative fund raising scheme - when I checked discount was actually bigger :-(
We do not know how much strength DW has when going into some of these negotiations so difficult to judge.
But CR's are going to be par for the course for a while yet unless something very fundamental changes .
I've seen stranger things happen on these boards LOL but aye that would take the biscuit.I remember the carp expression
08:48 No Way!
RH69 and ratty - the good old days!
