Happy weekend all and enjoyed contributions to this little debate.
:-)
Yes, SIPP and ISA for me too
Thats true, i have an ISA account and shares with a stock broker
Don't forget that the number of individual shareholders also includes the possibility of 1 person having 2 accounts -
SIP. &. ISA's.
As I have both and my wife has an ISA we are 3 shareholders as per voting rights , so come on who are the other 2594 ?

Islandlassie, yes, I saw your post yesterday (?). A nice buy. And the very best of luck to you, indeed everyone here.
Interesting figures Dazzle, where are they from if you don't mind me asking? Somewhat amazed to find myself in the group of 2597 tbh!! But happy to be in whatever. This has a nice feel to it!
I have nearly 3million now Tarth but will be derisking from 2p onwards...just in case lol
Where do they get the 9.9B figure from? - there are only 6.7B in circulation!
Whatever you have, the very best of luck for next month and beyond.

Forgot to add there is also 250 million in options unlisted and 50 million in performance rights... will they get taken up? So from 1st jan 2019 was there any added shares? Am I wrong in estimating 500 mil roughly

Thanks B. TD.
the annual report 2019 page 75-6 details the breakdown of share ownership at that date, my view is that will still be basically valid in terms of shareholder numbers even if number of shares has increased.
:-)
Brombard, can you please clarify that last post? Don't quite understand it (I'm old!!)
Brom,
Thanks for update, obviously I had remembered 2017 figure
BB32
we don't need to think, the annual statement gives figures admitted 12m old and at 6.3B shares but be surprised if not 95% correct in terms of number of investors.
Dazzle, I think your figure of 2 million shares average is way too high. Yes, there will be some with deep pockets who are prepared to "gamble" 10s of thousands of pounds on an AIM share, but I reckon there will be an awful lot more prepared to put in 100s or low thousands of pounds. Me, for instance, with 250000 shares. Of course, some LTHs will have accrued large amounts at significantly lower prices, but I still think your estimate is way out. There are lots of investors who just like to have a dabble, and won't commit vast amounts to any one share.
Daz,
Seem to remember the latest figure quoted in 88e announcements that there were approx 8,500 shareholders

Decent close and a week nearer spud and my accountant has just informed me my January tax payment is £5k less than I was expecting.... happy days
Daz 68M or 1% , sounds a bit of an estimate does it not :-)

page 75
gives breakdown of holders at date of report
Just got my broker to find out very roughly how many free floating or outstanding shares not in sticky hands today and the figure is 68 million... with in the last half hour.. so 6.8 billion in people’s pockets and if on avg each account has 2 million it means around 3400 share holders...( roughly est)
