Following two decades of research and development in the field of stereoscopic 3D and advanced imaging, DDD has created an extensive international patent library. Many of these patents have formed the basis for technologies that have been shipped with over 38 million 3D consumer products since 2010 including televisions, PCs and smartphones, firmly establishing the value of these innovative concepts and inventions. The appointment is the result of DDD's extensive search for an established partner that can assist DDD's in evaluating strategic options for DDD's extensive patent rights. DDD and IPNav will closely collaborate to develop a focused patent licensing program. Chris Yewdall, CEO of DDD, said: "DDD has invested heavily over the past twenty years to invent innovative 3D products and solutions that have been used by leading brand name licensees in tens of millions of 3D products, confirming the relevance of these inventions. We believe that IPNav brings a depth of experience, worldwide coverage and flexible approach that we did not see with other intellectual property advisors." Erich Spangenberg, CEO of IPNav said: "DDD's 3D conversion and rendering technology patents and related intellectual property are well established in the 3D market globally. This appointment will allow IPNav to assist DDD in its ongoing efforts to achieve fair value for its significant investments in research and development."

agree, it would be helpful for the company and shareholders to get an update on events to date as it seems that we are all in the dark. This company is in a good position from last reporting activities and we wonder when we can get an update on current performance.
Thanks for your insightful comments, most informative. It's comments like this that are exciting, taken from the recent Financial Report Update, although to be fair they have given no time-scale. """The Group continues to make progress in its initiative to secure a partner to assert the Group's international patent rights and is involved in detailed discussions with multiple parties. The goal of this initiative is to pursue patent licensing opportunities to complement the Group's technology licensing programme. The Group will provide a further update on this initiative in due course.""""" Today there was a rise of 3.78% on Google finance. There is a bit of momentum and hopefully any good news will set it rolling Northwards. TBH I am surprised at anybody selling at this price, and often very small amounts.
Despite the price listed here showing a fall of 2.7%, the accompanying intraday chart shows DDD closed up today (after hours). Google Finance, (Go to google, enter, "LON:DDD") also shows a rise of 1.08%.
It's a good question, perhaps Netflix are the ones to ask. DDD would be a bargain for many Tech companies and it is a surprise to see them languishing like this. Strangely, it doesn't seem to bother DDD too much though. I take it that sometime the share price of this company will actually go up, to say the bad news is already priced in is an understatement. Despite that, down again!
Hi All, I've been long DDD shares from 14p and looking to add soon. The one thing which I find really confusing is why is a company like Netflix not making an offer to buy DDD for a small cheque (I would accept 30p area personally !) . Netflix is a USD 26bn Mcap company with I believe over USD 1bn of net current assets. With Yabazam becoming more popular (albeit still small reach), this looks like a very cheap way of extending netflix's offering and gaining exposure to a potential 3d boom, including great IP/patents. rgds
"No worries. I got mixed up with both these companies a few years back...." Oh, I see, you can't beat the voice of experience, can you? It's kind of you to be so generous, but needless to say, was MY face red when I realised!!! Perhaps $1.15 sometime soon then? Although it does look like things may be moving, an update from them soon would help, I think. So far we have had no announcements from CES or Barcelona.
"""It looks like streaming development is pushing ahead - Samsung will surely wish to offer such progressive processing in its latest generation mobile platform."""" One of the great attractions for me of DDD is their experience in dealing with major players like Sharp, LG and Samsung. This is no upstart company but a genuine world leader in cutting edge technology. That is why I have such faith in them.... I do (occasionally) wonder about the PR side though! Here's hoping. GLA.

It looks like streaming development is pushing ahead - Samsung will surely wish to offer such progressive processing in its latest generation mobile platform. Most certainly its on the cable operaters radar reading the following article. http://cable.tmcnet.com/topics/cable/articles/2014/02/24/371210-ddd-group-enters-into-partnership-with-interdigital.htm
Found this, http://www.bloomberg.com/quote/DDD:US Yes, I think youn are right and it is referring to this company here. Shame, Oh, well, the sellers can carry on, one day it will come right, sincere apologies, I checked as much as I could before hand, somebody needs a name change (Not DDD UK!)
I thought like you too, until I checked, yes the price is listed in dollars but I believe they are the same company but on different markets, OTCQX is the market the American branch is listed on, this is from their own web-site, """""DDD commences trading on the OTCQX marketplace in the United States, making it easier for US investors to trade in the stock. Coinciding with the listing, DDD presented at the LD MICRO Growth Conference, introducing the DDD story to the US micro-cap investment community.""""" Link:http://www.ddd.com/about-us/history/ I had checked DDD USA on the OTCQX and it is listed as a UK company, so I do believe they are the same company. Was ever DYOR more apt? DYOR GLA!

"""3D Systems: prioritizing top-line growth over near-term profitability: On Feb 5, DDD provided an update to FY-13 expectations, indicating revenue would be $513-$514M, which was in line with past guidance. However the company guided EPS to $0.83-$0.87, which was lower than prior guidance, driven by increased investments in the business to support new product introductions. The company also provided 2014 guidance, of revenue of $680-$720M, and non-GAAP EPS of $0.73-$0.85. EPS guidance was significantly lower than expectations as the company will continue to invest in new products this year in order to drive long-term growth. While the stock was down on the news, shares have since recovered some of the declines, which we believe reflects investors’ focus on top-line growth. We remain positive on the company driven by strong revenue growth supported by solid bookings in C4Q-13, and we expect increased investments in new products to begin to bear fruit later this year.""""
2 RNS today, this is the cause of the "massive" sell-off:.................................................................................................. Year end trading update and Notice of Results Thu, 20th Feb 2014 07:00 RNS Number : 5176A DDD Group PLC 20 February 2014 ? 20 February 2014 DDD Group PLC Year end trading update and Notice of Results DDD Group plc (AIM: DDD, OTCQX: DDDGY, 'DDD,' the 'Group'), the 3D solutions company, today issues a trading update for the financial year ended 31 December 2013. The Group expects total revenue for the full year to be approximately $3.4 million (2012: $8.6m), owing to the previously disclosed fall in demand for the Group's 2D to 3D conversion software as the global PC market continues to decline. Gross margin is expected to be 99%, up two percentage points from 2012. Cash and receivables (including earned royalties) at the end of the period were in excess of $3 million of which net cash was $2.7 million (net cash as at 31 Dec 2012: $3.6m) and the Group has no debt. During the year over 11 million units shipped (2012: 15m) due to fewer PC software licenses shipped and a decline in shipments of chips for use in PC monitors and Blu-ray players. This brings the cumulative number of consumer devices shipped with TriDef 3D to approximately 38 million units worldwide at the end of December 2013 (2012: 26 million). Shipments of the Group's mobile software licenses commenced during the second half of 2013 in the new generation of glasses-free 3D tablets. More positively, following the strategic investment and collaboration with InterDigital, Inc. which was announced in mid-September, the new video encoding technologies combining DDD's video pre-processing technologies with InterDigital's user adaptive video streaming technology were integrated towards the end of the year. These new technologies were demonstrated at the International CES show in Las Vegas in January 2014 and will be demonstrated at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. In addition to the application of the Group's new video pre-processing solutions to improve the picture quality of streaming 2D movies, the Group has also begun to explore the application of these new solutions for the large addressable market of video conferencing, in which the very same benefits of bandwidth reduction and picture quality improvements are expected. The latest gesture sensing technologies, such as the Intel RealSense 3D camera which was demonstrated extensively at CES, simplify the creation of 3D depth information in real time for PC and tablet devices. The Group has received a positive response to its proposals from existing and prospective customers who are planning to introduce gesture sensors in their mobile computing products before the end of 2014. The Group continues to make progress in its initiative to secure a partner t
I know, really really tempting, especially as this is a new low in 52 weeks and a new Financial Year around the corner. So there is little chance of price falling to get the old CGT free alloawance on this one. ;) This is a company in profit. I wonder if there is some short selling, the figures are so small! Just work it out, 102 K sold and a drop of 8.89%!!!! Bizarre!! Without doubt this is very, very watchable, but I will wait until some buys go in before I top up, might keep my eye on the old Ichimoku chart site, too. Belt and braces....
To quote Monty Python. Somebody is having a laugh. Good news re working with InterDigital and down we go again. Manipulation afoot before a much needed jump ? Can't seem to talk myself out of buying more, but at what price ( and at what cost ) ?
At 100,000 a time in 6 minutes....
Doh!
Someone snapped up a bargain after hours! A few "shakeouts" here, I would say which suggests someone knows something, however, DYOR.
It has actually dropped since I got in too, but there are still substantial buys occasionally. Checking Fridays market figures LSE here show a buy of 200,000, sells of only 188,597 and yet the price went down. Anyway, glad you got the You Tube link, always gives confidence to se a director who is well acquainted with the product and looking forwards so positively.
Thanks for the posts, and good to hear your positive comments. It was the link I couldn't get AEM not the "joke" but with some googling on Youtube and changing an i for a j I found it. As you say a good interview and CY comes over as a very capable CEO. Well, AT, if we hit the heady heights of 10 p in the next couple of months I'll be almost halfway to my averaged in price ! There's hope yet, so maybe I should top up before the sp heads north.
I have great faith in this company, they are now in profit, I am expecting that to increase for the last trading year to Dec 31 2013 and am waiting, waiting, waiting... (Yes, it's a feeble joke, but a joke none the less. my last post, which you didn't understand was simply "Lookin' Good!" 3 times to reflect the company name. If you have to explain a joke it plainly hasn't worked. Warning, I may still give up my day job) TBH, anyone who can remember the glory days of their deal with Sharp will know this is a superb company with trend setting and market leading products that actually work and who seem able to rise to any challenge, next big thing...DX11. Come on DDD!. Check this quote from the You Tube link below, "Great interview, good questions. Especially the rift and dx11 questions at the end." On a personal level I have been in and out over the years, currently in.
