dead cat bounce imho
No way in the world the stock market should be rising like this. Short short. Goodness Me
..rising, beware of the bull traps.
wanderer this is not a prediction so don't hold me to it I think that the ftse will drop another 400 to say 6100 in 2-3 weeks and then is the time to pile in , mind you I might be wrong. people have just got to hold their nerve and look more long term,
A lot of people are suffering at the moment they just need to hold their nerve In the long term the markets always go up But not in a straight line.
Denby, I know you werent being a smart arse, It was meant to be a joke. You're right, it wasn't hard to predict, if it wasn't Coronavirus it would be something else. Still, pension funds and portfolio managers will be having nightmares but amongst the chaos there will be some opportunities to make money. I wish you well in your stock market ventures!!
WANDERER,
The writing was on the wall not to hard to predict not a smart ass, I will start buying in a 2-3 weeks just someone that is trying to make some money.
Now 6550., Its a bloodbath. Worst week for 12 years. When will the rebound come I wonder? To be fair the stock market was completely overvalued and was due a major correction but I dont think anyone saw it panning out like this.
Ok Denby, you were right but remember, no one likes a smart arse!!

Don't be to hard! every one cannot be highly intelligent like us.
This is now looking very frothy hate to say it but me thinks this will drop 300 or so this year
yes....no...do you really care or take notice of what someone else thinks? maybe posting such a stupid question you should go back to primary school...
Do you think this surge will continue, say in 1 week's time or 1 month? Or is it just the hangover of the election result?
As long as the media keep digging up the collapse of Hong Kong etc etc
and a 1000 similiar doom stories founded or not shares are going no where.
Its locked in this 2 steps forward 3 steps back rut.
Personally Im really glad to be OUT more or less of ALL shares.
Over past 10 years.
Overall I lost about 3 grand.
But count myself lucky to have escaped the wiser with even that
seeing what so many poor vestors lost in panic SP crashes and go noww here speculation.
Currently and for foreseeable future which means 2 maybe 5 years
Im staying more or less OUT.
I no longer have to worry about the latest mini crash.
And was making damn all on the portfolio anyway.
My view has changed very much in the past 20 years of shares.
With U.S. Markets hitting all time highs, I would say the FTSE100 is probably lagging a bit and there could be more to come, if BREXIT gets resolved the FTSE could go higher IMHO
hi guys and girls do we not think that markets are getting a bit frothy and that a major correction is not due ???
The extortionate fuel duty makes me so angry. In the USA they only pay an eighth of the duty on fuel (about 9p per litre).
Also how am I meant to find staff for my restaurant when I don't agree that I should impose a certain lifestyle on my staff, nor that I agree with the government that making people poorer will do anything to reduce carbon emissions - the biggest emitters are the USA, China, India, Brazil, Canada, etc.
All I ask of my staff is their time commitment, focus and energy whilst at work. In return they can live where they want and participate in the rest of the economy however they wish. But what is essential is cheap fuel - i.e. we urgently need to reduce the price of fuel in order to boost employment and mental well-being as a society.

A concerned citizen. Will be supporting any political group which is in favour of cutting taxes on oil companies and cutting fuel duty in the UK down to 10p per litre instead of the current level of 77p per litre.
Let's actually get the economy moving and people doing something productive...the government is to blame for the high levels of unemployment and part-time employment as they actually want to try and price people out of being able to afford to run their cars.
Looks like FTSE 100 chat is now available.
