Definition of 'Mean'

(a) Arithmetic mean a set of numbers are summed, and the answer is divided by the number of numbers;
(b) Geometric mean: calculated as the nth root of the product of n number, e.g. the geometric mean of 2 and 5 is the square root of 2x5 which is 3.16.
