Avocet Mining PLC18 December 2006 Avocet Mining PLC (the 'Company') Total Voting Rights In conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 6, theCompany notifies the market of the following: As at the date of this announcement, the Company's issued share capital consistsof 121,576,530 ordinary shares with a nominal value of 5p each ('OrdinaryShares'). Of this total, 712,000 Ordinary Shares are held in treasury. Therefore, the total number of Ordinary Shares with voting rights is120,864,530. The figure of 120,864,530 may be used by shareholders in the Company as thedenominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they arerequired to notify their interest in, or a change in their interest in, theshare capital of the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
