Update re: Dividend
On 1 September 2010 the Company provided an update to shareholders in respect of the distribution of Dundee Precious Metals Inc common shares ("Dundee Shares") received by the Company pursuant to the disposal of its smelter business in March 2010 to Weatherly shareholders who were on the register at the close of business on 19 March 2010. In particular, it was announced that an initial distribution of Dundee Shares by way of a dividend in specie would be paid on 20 September 2010 (the 'Initial Distribution') and that a second and final distribution of Dundee shares would be paid on 21 March 2011 (the 'Second Distribution').
It has come to the Company's attention that due to the provisions of the Companies Act 2006, as a result of the Company's capital reduction process completed in March 2010, it will not be possible for the Company to pay a dividend until after the publication of its Annual Report and Accounts for the year ended 30 June 2010 which is expected to occur on or around 4 October 2010.
