DIVIDEND DECLARATION

The Board of Directors of the Company has declared an interim dividend of 1.50 pence per share for the three-month period to 31 December 2016. The dividend will be paid on 7 April 2017 to shareholders on the register as at 10 March 2017. The ex-dividend date is 9 March 2017.

The Company has elected to designate all of the interim dividend for the period to 31 December 2016 as an interest distribution to its shareholders, thereby "streaming" income from interest-bearing investments into dividends that will be taxed in the hands of shareholders as interest income.

No income tax will be deducted at source from the interest distribution paid on 7 April 2017, or from future interest distributions, on the basis of the draft legislation contained within the UK Finance Bill 2017, which will take legislative effect from 6 April 2017.
