Trans-Siberian Gold PLC03 March 2005 news release For immediate release: 3 March 2005 TRANS-SIBERIAN GOLD PLC EXPLORATION UPDATE Results from 2004 field season LONDON: 3 March 2005 - Trans-Siberian Gold PLC ("TSG" or "the Company") has nowreceived most of the results from the 2004 trenching and drilling programmesundertaken at its Veduga and Veduga Greater Licence Area (GLA) properties inKrasnoyarsk Krai in south central Siberia. The first exploration results arealso to hand from Bogunay also in Krasnoyarsk. Initial results are alsoavailable from new on-going drilling at Asacha in south Kamchatka. Jocelyn Waller, Managing Director, said today: "We have completed extensive trenching and drilling programmes at several of ourproperties with generally good results. At Veduga the work has delineatedextensions to the current ore zones with many high grade and wide intersections. We expect that this will be reflected in an upgraded resource in due course. "Within the Veduga GLA exploration licence we have encountered extensive areasof low grade mineralization in two prospects that certainly merit follow up. "At Bogunay, our new property in Krasnoyarsk, initial exploration has alreadyencountered an extensive new gold anomaly that the geologists consider to bevery promising. "We have also started to drill at Asacha with the aim of expanding itsresources. A few good results have been received so far." VEDUGA Within the main Veduga licence TSG has now completed a further 6,616 metres ofdiamond drilling, 3,704 metres of reverse circulation drilling and 637 metres oftrenching. This was in addition to earlier drilling in 2004 from which data wasused to compile the resource estimate announced on 13 September 2004. In totalsome 30,000m of exploration drilling and channel sampling was completed duringthe course of the 2004 exploration programme. A new resource estimateincorporating all the new data is currently being prepared by an independentexpert and is expected to be available shortly. The trenching and drilling of zones adjacent to the ore bodies have extended theknown strike lengths of Ore Bodies 9, 10 and 11 located to the south-west andwest of the main ore body, Ore Body 1, and also of Ore Body 7X located to thesouth-east. The results vary but include many high grade intersections and wideintervals. The most significant trench intersections include 6.0m @11.06 g/t,14.5m @10.10 g/t, 14.3m @7.52 g/t, 9.5m @6.56 g/t and 9.6m @6.63 g/t. The mostnotable drill results are 3.4m @14.47 g/t, 37.9m @2.54 g/t, 10.5m @10.98 g/t,16.0m @ 9.07 g/t, 7.0m @ 5.73 g/t, 12.0m @ 6.34 g/t, 17.0m @ 3.2 g/t, 16.0m@8.54g/t, 44.0m@9.91g/t, 20.3m @8.69g/t, 27.3m @9.11 g/t and 17.0m @4.42g/t. Allof these intersections are relatively shallow and would fall into an open-pit. Results from Ore Body 1, containing some 70% of the current resource, showconsistently good grades and long intervals. The overall excellent resultsinclude 34.0m @7.55g/t, 76.0m @6.01g/t, 39.20m @7.61g/t, 22.4m @7.75 g/t and23.5m@ 16.22g/t. The effect will be to upgrade the resource classification inthat ore body. All the latest results are listed in appendix 1. VEDUGA GLA Mineralised zones encountered during previous test pitting of geochemical andgeophysical anomalies in the Veduga GLA, the 540 sq.km. exploration licencesurrounding the main Veduga licence, were followed up by trenching and diamonddrilling and results have revealed extensive low grade zones of goldmineralisation in the Interesny and Zapadny prospects that lie close to thesouthern and western boundaries of the main Veduga licence. The mineralisationis in meta-sediments and is of a similar type to that in the main Vedugaore-bodies although considerably lower in grade (i.e. between 0.5 and 2.6 g/t).On the face of it the grades are not exciting. However, the anomalous zones arequite extensive and merit follow-up to see whether potentially bulk mineabledeposits could be established. Similar mineralisation has also been encounteredin the Power Line prospect to the north. The latest results for the GLA are listed in appendix 2. BOGUNAY A limited programme of geochemical sampling and trenching has been carried outin the 47 sq km Bogunay licence located 150 kilometres east of Krasnoyarsk cityat the southern extremity of the Yenesei Ridge gold belt, that was acquired byTSG in July 2004. The first results are encouraging. A soil geochemical anomalymeasuring some 300 x 700 metres has been discovered in the Eastern and Skalistyprospects and in the Krasnoyarsk zone with gold grades up to 1 g/t. The anomalyis hosted by metasomatically altered beresitic rocks close to a known quartzvein occurrence. In six follow-up trenches where results are known fourteen c. 1metre intervals show gold grades in excess of 2 g/t with one intersectionshowing 14.2 g/t. The geochemical anomaly and trenching results are considered to be positivesigns for the possible occurrence of bulk-tonnage gold mineralisation hosted bymeta-volcanogenic sedimentary rocks. A follow-up programme is planned for thecoming field season. The Bogunay trenching results are listed in Appendix 3. ASACHA Initial results of the drilling programme being undertaken at Asacha on theKamchatka Peninsula, Far Eastern Russia, to add to its current JORC classifiedresource of 680,000 oz, have now been received. Drilling began in July 2004,using TSG's own rig and two contractor rigs, since when 14,500 metres and 80holes have been completed, including 1,520 metres of sterilisation drilling onthe planned sites for the mill, tailings dam and accommodation blocks. Drillingis continuing. The north-south striking Main Zone has been explored along 1.5 kilometres of its4 kilometres' strike length. Exploration thus far has concentrated onprospecting structures parallel to the Main Zone. Assay results to hand confirmthe existence of the eastern apophasis to the Main Zone and locally extend Veins1 and 2, which contain most of the resources. Nine holes have grades in narrowintersections in excess of 6 g/t. The results also show that depth extensionsare localised. Results from 4 out of 9 holes drilled on the eastern flank of themain zone show only narrow low grade mineralisation. Assays are awaited from over 1,000 samples currently undergoing laboratorypreparation and analysis and include holes drilled to the south of the mainzone. Insufficient results have been received to date to make any meaningfulassessment at this stage. Results received so far from the Asacha drilling programme are listed inAppendix 4.
