AURUM MINING PLC
("Aurum" or "the Company")
Andash Project Update
Aurum Mining plcĀ (AIM: AUR)Ā is giving anĀ updateĀ to the market following theĀ announcement made onĀ 29Ā MayĀ 2008.
In the civil case, in which the Company's wholly owned subsidiaries Andash Mining Company and Kaldora Company Limited are named asĀ co-defendantsĀ by Marsa AG, theĀ Bishkek Inter-District CourtĀ ofĀ KyrgyzstanĀ has referred the case back to the Bishkek City CourtĀ ofĀ Kyrgyzstan. This referral was legally required due to the fact that the Bishkek City Court did not fulfil its requirements when the case was originally referred to it for jurisdictional clarification.Ā The Bishkek City Court is required to hear the claim by 29 June 2008.
In a separate development, Aurum has successfully obtained aĀ substantialĀ freezing order inĀ LiechtensteinĀ overĀ the bank accountsĀ of MarsaĀ AGĀ in order to secure a potential claim againstĀ MarsaĀ AGĀ for fraudulent and malicious litigation againstĀ the Aurum Group.Ā The supporting statement of claim has also been lodged with theĀ Liechtenstein Court.
The Aurum Board views the obtaining of thisĀ freezing orderĀ as an importantĀ step in the resolution ofĀ theĀ civil case inĀ Kyrgyzstan.
A further announcement will be made in due course.
