Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) - Results

OAO Severstal announces the results of voting on the resolution proposed at the Extraordinary General Meeting held on 26 December 2008.
The following resolution was put to Severstal's shareholders on a poll at the Extraordinary General Meeting, and the results of voting were as follows: to approve the dividends for the third quarter 2008 in the amount of 7.17 rubles per common share and per global depositary receipt ("GDR") payable before February 24, 2009 to shareholders on the share register record date of November 14, 2008. The starting date for payments is December 30, 2008.
Holders of the Company's GDRs may contact Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas as depositary for the related GDRs record date and payment date.
