Serica Energy plc25 July 2007 For release Wednesday 25th July, 2007 (at 07:00 BST 02:00 Toronto) SERICA APPOINTS NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR London, 25th July, 2007 - Serica Energy (UK) Limited ("Serica") is pleased toannounce that Steven Theede has joined the Board of Serica as a non-executivedirector with effect from 24th July, 2007. Mr. Theede was employed by Conoco, later ConocoPhillips, from 1973 until 2003.During his career he held numerous management positions in Refining andMarketing, Exploration and Production as well as in corporate activities,located both in the US and Europe. In 2000 he was appointed President,Exploration and Production for Europe, Russia and the Caspian region and waslocated in the UK. In 2003 Mr. Theede joined Yukos Oil Company located in Moscow, Russia as ChiefOperating Officer and became Chief Executive Officer of the Company in July2004, a position he held until August of 2006.
