Statpro Group PLC26 April 2005 For release at 7.00 a.m. 26th April 2005 StatPro Group plc Appointment Laurence Wormald, Risk Expert, joins StatPro StatPro Group plc, a leading provider of portfolio analytics solutions to theglobal asset management industry, is pleased to announce the appointment ofLaurence Wormald as UK Risk Director, an executive committee level appointment.Laurence, previously Research Director of the BITA Risk Group within CorFinancial Solutions, has over fifteen years of experience in developing riskmanagement, portfolio analysis and optimisation solutions for investmentmanagers, hedge funds and portfolio trading teams, and more recently for assetallocation. StatPro is rapidly becoming a major player in the risk arena and his appointmentto the executive committee confirms the importance we place on developing ourrisk solutions and also the requirement to measure and report on risk in theasset management industry today. Laurence has particular knowledge ofquantitative analysis and risk in global equities markets, and manages acontinuous programme of research into factor risk modelling, optimisation andquantitative strategies. Laurence was a founder of BITA Plus Consultants in 1994, after serving as adirector of Financial Technology Systems Development from 1988 to 1993. While atBITA Plus Consultants Laurence oversaw the design and development of thesuccessful BITA Plus range of Risk Modelling, Reporting and Optimisationsoftware products for institutional investors. Laurence was educated at Cambridge (BA, Physics) and University of California,Santa Cruz (PhD, Theoretical Physics), and has taught physics, informationscience and finance at UCSC and in Egypt. He is a member of Inquire, theInstitute for Quantitative Investment Research (serving on its Prize Committee),and is a City Associate of the Centre for Computational Finance and EconomicAgents at the University of Essex. He has made numerous presentations on RiskManagement and Optimisation at professional and academic conferences over thelast ten years.
