BOARD CHANGES

WH Smith PLC today announces the appointment of Nicky Dulieu to the WH Smith Board and the retirement of Suzanne Baxter

WH Smith today announces the appointment of Nicky Dulieu as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 9 September 2020 and that, in accordance with the Company's Board succession plan, Suzanne Baxter will step down as a Non-Executive Director after serving on the Board for 8 years following the Company's Annual General meeting in January 2021. Following the retirement of Suzanne Baxter as a Non-Executive Director, Nicky Dulieu will also be appointed as Chair of the Audit Committee following the Company's AGM.

Nicky joins the Board of WH Smith with substantial financial and retail expertise. Nicky trained as an accountant with Marks & Spencer Group plc and held various strategic and financial roles within Marks & Spencer over a 23 year period. In 2006, Nicky joined the Board of Hobbs Limited as Chief Operating Officer and Finance Director and was Chief Executive from 2008 until 2014. Nicky is currently a Non-Executive Director at Redrow Plc, Marshall Motor Holdings Plc and Adnams Plc.

Other than as set out in this announcement there are no further disclosures required in respect of Nicky Dulieu under paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
