Charitable Contribution
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("SEC") on July 31, 2019 announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the following contribution.
Contribution to Daegu GyeongBuk University Start-up
- SEC will provide a total of KRW 12 billion (KRW 4 billion annually during 2020 to 2022) to
Daegu GyeongBuk University Start-up (DGUS) to contribute to job creation by nurturing a start-up
ecosystem and fostering domestic startups. The annual contributions will be made each January
starting from 2020. DGUS will create a fund with the contribution and invest in startups supported
by the Daegu GyeongBuk Creative Economy Innovation Center.
