Record Date for Proposed Interim Dividends

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("SEC") announced today that its Management Committee at their meeting on June 3, 2015 decided the record date for the proposed interim dividends to be presented to the Board of Directors (the "Board") for a vote at the Board's next meeting scheduled for the end of July, 2015. If the Board approves the proposal to pay and declare interim dividends, it will determine the amount and the payout ratio at the scheduled meeting. The corresponding book closure period for the interim dividends, during which period the shareholders' registry of SEC will be closed and no transfer of shares in SEC will be affected, is presented below. 

Dividend payments, if declared by the Board, will be made to only those shareholders who

are the shareholders of record at the close of business on June 30, 2015.
