Appointment of an Independent Director

Symphony International Holdings Limited (LSE: SIHL), a leading investor in consumer-related businesses, primarily in the healthcare, hospitality, lifestyle, and real estate sectors in the Asia-Pacific region, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Georges A. Makhoul as an additional Independent Director of the Company with effect from 29 April 2013.

Mr. Makhoul brings to the Board a wealth of experience gained from spearheading Morgan Stanley's business in the Gulf, as President of that firm for the region. He also has extensive contacts and work experience in Europe and Asia gained from prior assignments in London and Tokyo. 

Prior to Morgan Stanley Mr. Makhoul was the Managing Partner of the consulting practice of PWC Japan. He had joined Price Waterhouse in the strategy consulting practice in New York in 1994. Before PWC, he led a National Science Foundation Research Centre at Columbia University in NYC.

Mr. Makhoul has a PhD in Electrical Engineering and is currently the CEO of Constellation Holdings, a Dubai based private investment firm.
