Speedy Hire PLC announces appointment of new Non-Executive Director
Speedy Hire PLC ("Speedy") announces the appointment of Dr Chris Masters to the Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 13 July 2011.

Chris has 20 years of experience as an executive Board member of listed companies. He was Executive Chairman of Aggreko Plc (1997-2002). Prior to this, he held a number of senior roles at Christian Salvesen Plc (1979-1997), including Managing Director, Industrial Services Division and at the time of leaving he held the role of Chief Executive. Chris started his career at Shell (1971-1979) where he gained an international reputation in the field of homogeneous catalysis.
Chris currently holds Non-Executive Directorships at Crown Agents, Alliance Trust Plc and Wood Group Plc. In the past five years, he has also held the positions of Non-Executive Chairman at Sagentia Group Plc (2006-2010) and SMG Plc (2004-2007).
Chris will replace Peter Atkinson, who will retire from the position of Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 13 July 2011. Peter leaves the Board with its thanks for his contribution at Speedy and its best wishes for the future.

Speedy confirms that there are no other disclosures to be made in respect ofΒ Chris Masters, pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
