Sable Mining Africa Limited ('Sable Mining' or 'the Company')

Assays Confirm Nimba Iron Ore Project's Grade and DSO Potential

Sable Mining Africa Limited, the AIM listed exploration company, is pleased to announce that assay results from the initial nine diamond drill holes completed on Plateau 2 as part of its Phase 1 drilling programme at its 123.5 sq km Nimba Iron Ore Project in south-east Guinea ('Nimba' or 'the Project') returned broad intersections of high grade iron ore, with highlights of 30.5m @ 63.8% iron ('Fe').

Overview:

·; Seven of nine initial drill holes returned composite grades of >59.5% Fe with an average mineralised width of 16.4m and an average grade of 62.8% Fe

·; Low contaminants returned with the possibility to further improve through screening of the coarse material

·; Potential for significant Direct Shipping Ore ('DSO') tonnage

·; Exploration target for DSO material up to 200Mt @ >58% Fe on Plateau 2

·; Nimba lies only 30km from the newly reopened standard gauge railway in Liberia, which extends 260km from Nimba to the deep water port on the coast at Port Buchanan, which would enable a rapid mining start-up once a JORC Compliant DSO Resource is defined

Sable Mining CEO Andrew Groves said, "These assay results confirm the potential for Nimba to host a world class DSO resource. The high iron content, grade continuity, low levels of contaminants, surface nature and DSO potential all underline Nimba's potential to become significant haematite iron ore project. Accordingly we believe that it has the chance to offer a tremendous opportunity to create value for our shareholders and as such we are strongly focussed on rapidly progressing towards a Maiden JORC Resource."

To date 748m of the initial 1,000m Phase 1 diamond drilling programme has been completed. Drilling is being undertaken at 400m centres along a series of NE/SW oriented fences spaced at 400m intervals. The holes completed to date have intersected a laterally extensive canga unit primarily comprising weathered/detrital hematite clasts cemented within a haematite rich matrix which grades in places into a clay matrix. The unit shows a strong continuity between the drill fences. Drilling is ongoing.

Sable Mining has completed a 100 line kilometre Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey across the three plateaux in order to accurately delineate the underlying paleotopography as well as any lithological variations. The survey has been completed along E/W oriented section lines spaced at 100m-400m intervals. This data will be used in conjunction with the drilling profiles to guide subsequent infill drilling required, as well as to assist with the development of a 3D model of the deposit. Results to date indicate that a good correlation exists between the base of the canga as seen on the GPR section lines and where the canga-bedrock interface has been intersected in the drill holes.

The drilling completed to date is on seven drill fences, providing coverage of an area of approximately 11.5km2. Based on the results achieved to date, the Plateau 2 area drilled has the potential to host up to 200Mt of DSO material. Initial assay results show that most of the canga material intersected by the drilling has grades ranging from 59%-65% Fe, and low contaminants.

Table 1 Analysis by ALS Laboratories, Ireland for diamond drillhole composites, Nimba licence

Maiden results have now been returned for nine of the 46 drill holes completed. The recent drilling completed on Plateau 2, the second of the three plateaux situated at the base of Mount Nimba, covers approximately 33% of a total combined aerial extent delineated for all three plateaux of approximately 35km2.

Independent Geological and Mining Consultants, Xstract Mining have been retained by Sable Mining in order to supervise/oversee the CPR process. This will lead to the tabling of a JORC compliant resource statement, incorporating the modelling of the drilling data being generated from the drilling programme. The 3D model will incorporate all data returned from the Phase 1 drill programme and will also incorporate the ground mapping and sampling data that have been collated across the project area since the programme started.
